Just registered with the TPS because I am sick :cuss: of getting annoying calls at home from automated machines. between 6-10 a day and some days more. just wondered if anyone had any feedback on tps or any other good companies offering a similar service.
hopefully time to :chillpill: now :)

My Electric boss has been ripped off three times in the last year and at the moment I am wiring up a very large garage for my friend.
My friend has had extensive building work done with a lot of problems not yet fixed by the builder...
Just wondered if anyone can help. I recently installed some PV roof tiles (solar century) at a large property my boss was working on. I have connected them using supplied pre-terminated leads and gone down into attic to a DC isolator. However I never had chance to install inverter as the...

I am interested to hear how other installers have found different 'leads' companies?
We have used Solar Guide for a lot of our leads and we have a really high conversion rate with them. Definitely our best experience with them so far.
We have also used Companeo and unfortunately ended up...
I know to many extent design is a major part of all our day to day roles as electrical contractors but I was wondering on large installations ie leisure centres, schools, hospitals where a supervisor/director of a company would have enough on his plate organising the labour etc. Are there...

I recently did a c&g pv course and have the chance to do a couple of installations. Can anyone advise on what gaining mcs accreditation involves and who is it best to go with?

Dear All,
I am a recently qualified electrician working in the South West (for my sins) and I am becoming disillusioned with my present employer as I am not being pushed or challenged much. With the current economic situation, I wonder if it would be wise to start looking for another job?
If I...

The overhead supply cable from a pole to my property is over my garage. The cable is a single phase concentric type. Is there any regulation as to the distance that the cable should be above any property?, at present it is less than 1 meter above the ridge and is inconvenient when doing work on...

Do loft insulation companies just throw their lovely candy floss straight over whatever is there or do they take any measures to protect the electrical installation.
I'm guessing it's the first but I have just learnt that a family member is having their loft insulation upgraded next month and...

Good day,
I am looking for a training course (practical & theoretical sessions) in electrical system.

Anyone know how to bid on this?
Just looked at a local councils current tender. Its due for review in November 2011. Current company has had it for many years. Are these potentially unbreakable contracts between councils and said companies.

I've been an electrician for 5 years now and have recently been thinking about a slight career change.
My qualifications are purely electrical (nvq/am2/c&g etc) so obviously different jobs would have to work with that.
But what my question is, is what other jobs could spur from my...

Just been scanning through my early morning reading material and came across an article in Roofing Today about the FITs review. In this article, it claims that Stand Alone Systems will only receive 9p per kWh after August 2011.
Surely this is incorrect as I've not heard anything about this...
Hi all, just wondered what was the best way to market yourself ( company) for PV installs. Do most of your clients get you from the MCS register? or recommendations from clients you have done installs for. What is the best way to break into this market? We don't seem to be getting many enquiries...
Hi everyone.
I'm after a bit of guidance please.
I'm an electrician and until recently was a PV installer working for an MCS accredited company. However due to change in circumstances, I am now going it alone, house bashing mainly. Since I have a fair bit of PV experience and the NICEIC PV...
Hi
Has any one used "complete picture" software for their qms? i am struggling to understand how to compile a qms and am reluctant to shell out on another course. i seems to offer a straight forward way to create a quality management system, but i would be keen to know what others think.
cheers
Hallo all.
I'm an electrical installer looking to work abroad.
I don't really know where to start looking or what I'm really looking for.
My main area of skill is in domestic installation but I have worked in all areas.
Just wondering if anyone on here knows where to look or if anyone...
