Not sure how this will help the industry. Why can't they just bring in a national license for competent electricians. Really p****s me off. Clearly having a JIB card is not enough for customers and recognition in the industry to people outside. Having been in Australia for a while now the way...
Its good to see that NICEIC have stated they will not be running a 3rd party certification scheme and have raised serious concerns over the ones that will be running these ridiculous schemes that allow DIYers to get someone to sign off their work
Was just wondering, what certificates should be issued by a solar company after completion of an installation. E.g. Electrical installation certificate etc.

This report will interest a lot of you. I would particularly urge you to read the evidence given by Dr Judson. (click on the BRC 02 link)

Just wondering has anyone on here ever been refused membership to any of the scheme providers? If you have what was it you failed on or got asked to provide further evidence of?

Hello all.
Having now tried out the new niceic online certification over the past two weeks, I feel as though we are being used as ginnipigs to trial the system as there seems to be a lot of glitches that we are coming across that the helpline don't have answers for. We have spent a...
I don't know if anyone else is a staggered by some of the events on the main forum as I am. Some of those installs are utterly APPALLING. But what is really surprising to me is how ineffective the competent persons schemes have been.
NICEIC just don't seem interested. But how can they not be...
I have been to look at a job today, they want a cat run wiring, It has two small panel heaters and a bulked head light. I am able to take a feed from a socket in the out building which has its own DB with RCD protection. My question is, is this classed as a special location therefore requiring...
Sorry if this has already been posted but it makes for very interesting viewing. Big changes ahead perhaps?... or maybe not. I'm very surprised at some of the scheme operator's evidence.

Hi
This is a bit long winded, but just to explain the full story.
The question is at the end :)
My ex has had no hot water and only temp heaters for four weeks due to a broken common biomass system that feeds 54 houses.
As a temporary solution they have installed a peak off peak immersion into...

Right guys I'm recently qualified electrician and looking to join a competent persons scheme. Is there any drawbacks to joining NAPIT or ELECSA rather than the NICEIC? It's just iv heard the others are a lot easier to get into.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
I'm after a new certification software as I've been using the Napit desktop software, my free trial is up and don't really fancy paying for the renewal.
Anyone using anything better?
personally I think the Napit one is rubbish but I haven't had much experience with any others.
Any help...
