I have changed a new fuse board in a Shop with about 4 Fridges and i have got a problem with the RCD keep tripping and I put 100ma time delay RCD instead of the 30ma and the RCD Tripped few times and then stopped tripping all the test was passed but I don't know if this comply with the regs or...
Your carrying out an eicr on a domestic property with a time delay 100mA RCD protecting lighting cables within 50 mm of the surface.
What code would you give it c3 or c2?
I am to replace an old MCCB with a new Eaton one, the circuit feeds a few boards and the current rating for the circuit is 160A. What I'm trying to understand is the 4 trip parameters that you select yourself on the breaker. These are:
IR - Continuous current setting (A)
tR - Number of...
Age old problem of the customer wants to have the bathroom extractor to come on with the bathroom lights but doesn't want the fan to run if just going for a number 1 in the middle of the night o_O
Having a look about I've pretty much decided on an Air flow icon 15 fan with delay start timer...
I need to replace a faulty light delay switch with a replacement. The current switch has 3 wires that must be several years old as all are red wires (one is marked with blue - perhaps from a more recent electrician?). 2 wires are going into the "com" switch and one into "on". I want to replace...
If anyone has time to explain how time-delayed RCDs function, or point me to an article that explains it I'd be very grateful.
I understand the principles behind a standard RCD, just very curious how that same design can then incorporate a time-delay.
Many thanks,
Could someone who uses this software tell me what the Rated Time Delay box is for when filling out the Main switch/ Switch-Fuse/ Circuit-breaker/ RCD section of an EIC?
Is it for the recommend range in which a time delayed rcd should trip 130 - 500ms... or is it something else?
Hi All,
I'm installing a building management system in a domesticproperty with UFH and sorting out the temporary lashed-in control system. Somewiring centres (like the Emmetti) have a manifold pump delay, and some like theheatmiser don’t.
Is it essential to have, or can a Grundfos UPS2 pump...
Hi People,
Carrying out a EIC on a recent cu replacement on a TT system. 100 amp 100MA time delay RCD used up front but cert is asking for time delay in MS- how do i find this out?
Thanks

Ok, So I've had a contact email me last night with a suggestion being made by one of the 'Larger' field mount companies that the Feed in Tariff cuts are going to be delayed for 6 months and they are now positioning themselves to get back on with some of the Solar Farms they had put off after the...
I should know the answer but I don't and have tried google etc so that's out of the way for starters. Reading a post about sockets used for IT equipment and the possible problems caused by RCD tripping due to start up earth leakage, led to think about protecting the circuit with RCBOs with a...
Hi Can anyone help ? i have a job where there is a tt supply and a swa sub main feeding a dist board with 13 final circuits , each final circuit is protected by a RCBO , all rcbos ok and not triping but the time delay trip seems very sesitive and keeps triping out , it tests ok no trip at half...
I have been asked to install a time-delay switch for the car park lighting at our village hall.
At present there is a single (2-pole) switch inside the building which controls the outside (bollard lights). However, when closing up the building on dark nights, once the bollard lights have been...
Hello, im looking for advice on a dorman smith sensel SRD earth leakage relay. I am doing an EICR on a caravan park, the Earthing system is TT and a sensel SRD relay fitted to load side of 200 amp main switch feeding various pillars. Relays have 4 settings from 30mA to 2000mA with time delay...
I would like to delay the power to reach a electrical device after turning on the socket.
USAGE: I would like to have lights along my garden, my garden is long and narrow. I would like the first set of lights to turn on straight away, then a delay to the second set and a further delay to the...
Hello guys,
I'm after a bit of advice/opinion on this one.
A customer has a plumis mist sprinkler system that needs power.
I'm planning to stick in a separate unit, 100mA time delayed rcd as he wants the cables buried. If I just stick a mcb off of that would that be acceptable? It's not a TT...
Hello,
Newcomer to the forum, so hello all.
Just to clarify, although I understand most of my way around the regs and workings, still get an approved guy to to any work......just thought I'd get that out of the way!
Anyhow, I have an old property that fed by good old overhead Live/Neutral so...

Need to provide customer with delay start, timer run on extractor fan which is operated by a ceiling mounted PIR, has anyone carried this out who is aware of anything I should look out for of apart from the obvious doubling up of timers...
Thanks
Hi all
on a TT system, upfront 100mA s type rcd at origin then 5 submains out to 5 small CUs each with its own 30ma rcd main switch
on testing 30mA rcds they are totally fine with upfront RCD bypassed but when tested with upfront RCD installed, all 5 rcd trip early on test
Im thinking this is...
