Hi guys, just after some advice and reassurance in what I'm doing as not encountered this fault before. So I have an earth/neutral fault.
Plug an appliance in trips in the RCD in the db. I have continuity between earth and neutral in the sockets from different circuits.
Now if I use my IR...

I don't install these so have no idea about the reliability etc.
Got a client who has about 28 of them in 4 rooms - 3 of the 4 rooms are on dimmers and the reliability of these is poor. Is this typical? Are there dimmers that people would definitely recommend?
Sorry don't know the make...
Firstly, not sure if this is the right section, and I realise Apprenticeships have changed dramatically since my day.
But hey ho never mind, just wondering what experiences / exploits members recall from their time during training. I have memories of becoming good friends with the different...

Hi
I have just changed both an off-peak CU and a normal CU. I have tested both. Can i put them both on the same cert or do they need to be on two different EIC's ??
What are CEF like for prices, my work has an account for them, but the account is held at a different branch to the one we use. Just want to make sure we are not paying silly prices as they can't give us a price for parts unless they phone the branch we have the account with apparently.
Is it...
I have a project in a hotel that has a DALI control system
We are supplying LED downlights that are dimmable on the DALI protocol but they also want other lighting ground lights and wall lights that do not need to be dimmed.
Question is will they still work on the standard LED drivers or do...
Hi guys,
One of my guys drilled through a ring main cable today on the 1st floor of a company, knocking out the MCB, RCD feeding the MCB and the BS88-2 fuse in the basement.
Why did it blow the BS88 fuse?
Cheers
Had a bit of a discussion today, so thought I'd ask on here. When working out spacings for spotlights what setup does everyone use? I know different lights have different outputs and require different spacings, I was just wondering what people use as a rule of thumb.
Cheers, Jim

Hi,
Quick question, does anyone know if there is a different spec to the U.K. for earth rods?
I'm told in Spain they are longer but not sure if that is correct? Also are there any regs in Spain relating to the positioning of the rods etc (i.e. distance fro property)?
Any advice greatly...

Hi everyone.
This is my first time on here so please be kind :hurray:

HI guys,
just wondering if I can pick some brains. Going to install a loft light and switch off a lighting circuit and the circuit don't have rcd protection, as cables are on surface I don't believe Rcd is needed. What I am doubting myself a little with is my work mate says I need to install...

Just received this:
I would suggest we all reply to keep it the same.
In my opinion > 50kW requires different expertise and would normally be an M&E type contract, don't let these guys scope creep into commercial areas, the whole design and contract process is very different above 50kW.
