Hello first floor has halogen recessed downlighters run off a 12v transformer.
I’m sure you can’t just swap the lamps to led but why is that if they both are low voltage and also
If it’s the first floor it needs to be fire rated right? Many thanks

Hi guys,
Had a little job today where some led downlighters were flickering it was 3 out of about 15. I checked the voltages on the 3 which told me the transformers for each one are broken. Confirmed this by testing a working one which was a getting a steady 11.5 to 12v ac.
I was just wondering...
Hi, going to install 12 JCC leg 6 downlighters, just wondering as it's a vaulted ceiling, roughly 13 degrees, is it worth the extra money to the customer for the ones which have 'eyeball' adjustment?
We have been asked to install downlighters in 100mm insulation below a air ventilation space in a warm deck roof. Our concerns are as follows;--
We could use led luminaires but some future occupant may change these for halogen resulting in fire damage
The building inspector is not going to be...
Has anyone fitted the GU10 firerated downlighters supplied by Avantech? Come from a trading co called red arrow.. not prefitted lamps but fit your own halogen/LED which I prefer because different people have different preferences on colour, beam angle etc.

Hi Guys,
Im currently quoting a job to install dimmable downlighters.
Firstly, can I use 240v downlighters with dimmable LED bulbs
Secondly, can I use a standard dimmer switch or does it have to be a low voltage one?
Thanks as always
Dan
Hi
My father in law has a series of 5 mains powered LED down lighters in his dinning room stop working all at the same time. There are other LED's in his kitchen next to the dinning room which all work fine.
Would there be one breaker for each series of LED's on the fuse board, could this be...
Why do many sparkies fit integrated LED downlights such as the JCC FGLED range?
I wouldn't fit combined units at all, at least not in a domestic situation. You're saddling the client with an expensive reinstallation bill if in the future he wants, for example, warm white instead of cool white...
Hi everyone
I'm a total electrical noob (sorry if this thread is for the pros only but the DIY thread is closed) but am in need of some help!
My landlord, in his infinite wisdom, has installed halogen downlighters in every room in the house. I hate halogens. He's not going to change it himself...
Morning All,
I have a requirement for some small diameter LED downlights IP44 for a soffit that’s built with more wood than a forest. I can’t find any and nor can a couple of wholesalers. Ideally they would be 30mm dia, but I could stretch to 40mm. Can be any voltage. Anyone seen anything...
Hello all, I have got quite a good understanding about electrical installations but have never installed Downlighters? I'm doing a job on my own small living room and want to install new LED downlights; the room currently has a normal ceiling rose in the middle of it and I would like to install...
I'm out of my depth on this one and need help!
I have been asked by a customer to source and install some LED downlights (50W equivalent) that he wants to dim in increments of 0.5%. He's talking about somethin called DMX that he's seen at a home building show. A trip to my wholesalers was...

Hi,
The garage install I finished off today, pleased with it, looked good! Where the customer originally had taken a 4 way bar apart, stuck some twin and earth in it, and poked it through the wall and connected it off the back of the lounge socket, I went to disconnect it today as last part of...
