Has anyone calculated how much the utilities are saving by buying in the exported electricity at 3.2p. I'm responding to the consultation and can't remember seeing any actual estimates of how much they are saving.
I am trying to get an HH export meter installed for a 50kwp array. One of the questions i need to answer is "is the supply CT or WC?"
My installers are meant to be answering this but they are being a bit slow, and i was hoping to answer it myself to get the ball rolling.
Is there a way to...

Just wondering what people's experience is of fitting export meters. We've put a few in & had no problems but I know some electricity suppliers are insisting on only certain companies fitting their customer's export meter (not 'just' an MCS accredited installer..). Has anyone had any...

Sorry, that boring subject again about which so much has been written. However, I would just like to hear views on the following: 6mm 3 core swa running off 40A MCB from consumer unit in house. Armour and 3rd core connected to PME in house. This feeds an RCBO'd consumer unit in new building in...
I have been trying to get my head around a question from a client who wants to be able to continue charging his tenants electricity at the import rate when they are using the generated electricity from the PV.
If a meter is fitted between the CU and import meter will this measure the exported...
Hi, quick question, how does the metering company know how much Leccy you've put into the grid. Just wondering how they know how much to pay you.
I'm just waiting for my assessment after my first install and loads of questions keep popping into my head!!!! Got to be prepared for customer...
Hi all, done a cu change and periodic for a family member recently and found they had no earth supplied other than what they were getting off the gas and water main. Put a rod in for them, 84ohms, with all bonding on it drops to 0.25 ohms, even better!
They wanted the garage at the end of the...
Hello Chaps,
firstly forgive me, I'm not an electrician, but I have a fascination for what you guys get up to.
I'm having a Solar PV system installed soon (3.76KWp). My electricity supplier is Southern Electric who do an optional free export meter.
I am after your advice as to whether to ask...
Sorry to bring this up again, i just got very confused with the mass input i had on my last post.
So
You can export the tnc-s earth to an outbuilding. Any gas water or metal work needs to be earthed back to the outbuilding db. However its best to get permission from building control.
I...
Chaps, Would you have any thoughts on how I could measure the amount of KWh's exported to the grid from a domestic PV system?
I'm thinking there'd be a PV generation meter, a normal household usage meter and then a third meter that measures the export..but how to connect it up..?
Thanks in...
