Hi all
I'm looking to convert the freezer in a fridge freezer into a fermenting chamber for my home brewing, I have got a separate thermostat (link below) and want to run a 100w bulb off of the hot output to heat the chamber and then run the cold feed to the freezer. The chamber will probably...
Hi,
I want to wire up a 12V DC timer (CN101A) to turn an appliance on and off. I have the found on the internet the following wiring diagram for the timer and not being too experienced I was wondering whether it will work if I make the connections as shown:
The timer does not show + or - so I...
Hi,
I want to set up a PV system to power my small fridge. It's like the ones you can buy in Argos that run on 240V AC or 12V DC. They do not have a thermostat and so end up freezing their contents if left running (I use an mechanical timer at the wall socket). Like this:
Buy 6 Litre White...

Hi guys can any of you shed some light on this?
A Polish supermarket buys a large 3 phase commercial fridge with a separate compressor system like an AC system in the back. The supply comes from a 32A c type breaker which feeds another board purely for this fridge.
What are the components on...

i've been asked to look at an installation that was rewired a couple of years ago. it is a split board and the RCD has started tripping out. the owner said that previously he would maybe have an issue if a standard lamp blew etc but now something is leaking to earth. it all tests out fine. i...

Evening, my first post with diagrams knocked up in AutoCAD - hopefully, fingers crossed it doesn't all go horribly wrong! OK, my own kitchen, planning to re-route the ring so all sockets central about the new cupboards etc. The problem: I like the idea of having the freezer on its own RCBO. I'm...
Hi All
Called in to see a friend today and was asked to check out an rcd fault. The house has a 16th edition board with kitchen, downstairs and upstairs sockets on the rcd side, all on 3 seperate 32A mcb's. He regularly has the rcd trip out which resets straight away and then trips out about...
Hi, I've got a fridge freezer and the freezer section is as cold as the Arctic but the fridge section doesn't get cold at all even though it's at the coldest setting. I thought the temperature of both was controlled by the same system so this wouldn't be possible but I'm no expert. Does anyone...
Hi there,
I was testing the supply of a fridge with a voltage indicator.
I tested the incoming suppy which was fine but when I tested the terminals on the compressor it tripped out the mcb.
Why would this happen if Im using a voltage indicator and not shorting anything out as such?
Thanks
Hello all, I am currently planning a job for q ne kitchen extension. Just want some guidance on the best practice for wiring an American style fridge freezer. In the past I have had a dedicated circuit for a f/f non RCD protected. With the 17th edition requirements is this no longer the best...

However as I had the forsight to provide a dedicated circuit for the freezer all is well.:)
Why dont folk heed the advice and do this when having a rewire as a matter of course?
