Can anyone recommend a 7.5W LED GU10? I was using a Sylvania lamp but it's no longer produced. The 5W ones are not quite bright enough for my bathroom.
Thanks
Does anybody here have issues with changing 12V lamps to GU10 LED lamps in the same fitting?
Obviously involves taking out the transformer, changing the lamp holder and putting the fitting back.
I only ask because:
a) The tin cans usually have a label that says 12V
b) The tin cans are not...
Hi there.....I am a complete novice at electrical stuff, so sorry if my wording is not right... in my new house there is no bulb in one fitting/socket (the bit the bulb fits into!) in the bathroom ceiling. when I have looked at it I have found that the fitting/socket will not reach to the...
Hi everybody. Had a few issues with GU10 LED's (3.5W), seem to dim or flicker. Does anyone know of any circumstances that can cause this?
My wholesalers assure me that 'mine are the first to be returned', which I doubt!
A bit concerned as I have installed hundreds of these, or the 5w...
Looking for advice/pointers. I have installed client supplied GU10 LEDs in a warehouse. Client reporting flicker from LEDs. Installation is 3 phase, lights in question are on 2 different phases. Have heard and read about EMI, any help appreciated. My apologies if this issue has already been...
Hey there,
I recently moved into my new home which is entirely lit by 50 watt GU10 halogen spotlights, though I am gradually purchasing LED equivalents whenever money can be spared due to the fantastic efficiency.
Last night I switched on the livingroom lights which is lit by a total of 8...

I ran a completely brand new line from the electrical panel to a single pole switch which controls 4 GU10 LED Dimmable lights connected in parallel, every time i flip the light switch i blow the breaker, i tested the lines for resistance and was still able to check physically if the wire is...
Does anyone have recommendations? I've tried the Screwfix LAP 5w ones, they are ok but don't dim right down. Is this the same with others such as Sylvania? cheers
Hi Guys
Converting to GU10 for LEDs. Is earthing required?
When does a downlight fitting need to be earthed? What makes it Double Insulated?
I have 2 GU10 fittings in front of me.
One is an LAP open GU10. It's Double Insulated, the socket leads are not continuously so. The frame is metal...
Hello,
I had my house completely rewired 5 years ago. At that time I had 12 GU10 35W halogen spotlights fitted in my lounge, controlled by a simple rotary dimmer switch.
I have just replaced the bulbs with 12 5W dimmable GU10 spotlight LED bulbs. They work but there are two problems:
1. The...
so long story short im swaping bathroom halogen for gu10's
now the extractor has a mr16 in the middle.
have any of you guys come across one that can take a gu10?
Hi,
I've 26 MR16 12v downlights in my property. At the moment they're running 50w halogens, LED's would obviously be the more efficient option.
I think I've got a pretty solid plan for converting but I'm hoping someone will be able to point out any glaring omissions :stooge_curly:

Hi
I have a small issue if you can help.
Kitchen with 8 spotlights all using gu10 bulbs. First 1 blew, then a few days later 2 more followed.
I replaced them with new, still not working, so swopped some working 'old' bulbs for new and the same 3 wouldn't work.
Ive checked the wiring and no...

I am not an electrician, but before I go and call out fellows in the trade who charge by the hour just to give an opinion, I thought I'd ask you gentlefolk some questions:
I have two bathrooms, one with a sliding-door shower alone, another with a bathtub with an over-bath shower.
The first...
