Hello,
I wonder if someone can help me here.
My understanding is :
Leading edge dimmers are suitable for mains GU10 halogen lamps, but need to be down rated 75 to 50% to cover the load.
Leading edge dimmers are not suitable for GU5.3 / Mr16 low voltage lamps.
Trailing edge dimmers are...
Can anybody advise where I can get warm white and cool white B22 LED lamps for street festoons which are reasonably priced going to need 3,000 , have tried several brand but all seem to be poor quality and keep blowing
We have two wrought iron light fittings in our lounge that take five candle lamps in each. Using 25watt incandescent bulbs gives the right amount of light and with a clear envelope the sparkly filament looks good. With the onset of energy saving bulbs we find the compact fluorescents very...
Hi All,
I've just registered with the site after struggling to find a solution to my problem via google. I'm hoping some of you on here might be able to help me out as my experience with LED lamps is fairly limited due to working on the railway for the past 7 years and not doing much install...
Hi anybody use these? I put 8 down-lights in a hall and stairway about 18 months ago. (customer supplied lamps and fittings from amazon) 3 of them have now failed and i was wondering if it was poor quality led's or a bad batch. I normally use led hut ones or megaman from the wholesalers.
It is proposed that Halogen bulbs be phased out a the end o 2016. I can see lots of wiring adaptations for groups of halogen lights to be converted to LED but what about common adaptor, rather like a multi plug adaptor, that a halogen light (with a transformer) could be plugged into that would...

Gents,
Does anyone know where I can get a decent blue LED GU10 lamp?
I am looking for a multi chip or single chip type not the rubbish individual led type.
Cheers for your assistance
Basically I have around 40 down lighter's on one circuit.
i have just replaced 20 low voltage, with mains voltage, fire rated down lighters, and 12w LED bulbs.
but they seem to be blowing straight away! Within the first day 6 have blown, whilst tripping the MCB!
now what could be causing...
Hiya!
A friend has 27 12V downlights in his kitchen/dining area and wants to change them for LED to save on his electricity bill. I've not had any experience of these lamps and was wondering whether anyone on here could answer 2 questions, the first being, are they any good? In terms of light...

...cos if the lamp is in effect Class II with connections only to L and N (Edison screw; standard bayonet cap in unearthed pendant or batten), you would naively think there is no way the L and N can be in imbalance. But still the RCD trips. Definitely talking RCD trips here not MCB. I've seen...
Hi All
I have 6 GU10 downlighters that are on a single gang dimmer and works fine with normal 50w lamps. However I recently changed these to 3x3w LED dimmable lamps. But now if you turn the power down the lamps just flicker on and off !
I went to my local retailer and bought an LED dimmer but...
Excuse the ignorance (and laziness), but what's the lowest watt (equivalent) you can actually pick up?
Want to put a perimeter of downlights in to use instead of lamps so obviously want reasonably dim lights without actually fitting a dimmer.
Fitted 11 down lighters today for a customer who had bought 11 5w led lamps ( gu10 ) it states on the box at they are Dimmable but when I try and dim them they flicker like crazy , I've took one home tonight , rigged it up to a dimmer and it's fine , any ideas ?
Thanks
I've got 3 under cabinet lights which are 12v 10w each, supplied by an electronic transformer, 10-60w.
I would like to add a dimmer, and wondered if this is possible and what type would be suitable.
There are no markings on the transformer indicating whether it is dimmable or not.
Thanks in...
Has anyone had any experince with this type of LED lamp. Was going to use them in a customers bathroom? See some of the reviews comment on no memory function, what would be the default setting for example.
