I have to put 25 led down lights in a garage , customer wants them all on one switch line which will be 100 metres long. I'm going to use 1mm. Should I break them down into two lots of 14 ?
Hi I am currently training to be an electrician but am only part qualified at the min.
A friend of mine has asked me to fix some ELV downlights in his kitchen. Apparently when he switches them on sometimes it can take up to 10 mins for the lights to actually come on other times it can be a few...

Confused,
Have just spoken to Manrose, fan people, as am purchasing some bathroom fan/lights and enquired if I could replace the dichroic lamps fitted with LED equivalent. Answered NO, only if you also replace the transformer cos the drivers are completely different?. Although the original are...
Alrite fellas,
I am a rather passive member these days, but from time to time I bump into situations where I need some serious advice from the forum.
A few years ago I used to do plenty of installations with LED bulbs (mostly gu10 spots), I tried different brands, from philips to more unknown...
Hi new to this forum stuff, have a issue with me hallway light: it's on a 1way switch that switches 2 pendants (bc caps), when I was putting in some cfl lamps one at a time, when I put the second one in that one started flickering when switch was closed, so I put a filament lamp in it and it was...
The lamps keeps exploding around a tenants house. We have tried different batches of lamps, a LED lamp even went black we fitted.
Any ideas why this could be happening?
Forgive me if this has been covered previously but what led lamps do people find the best? I've tried simply led ones and have had a few faultys. Currently using loxa ones but I prefer smd's. Have used robus and halers but sometimes the customer won't pay that sort of money!!
Do yourselves a favour and don't bother with them. We fitted 14 behind a bar in a social club as part of a larger job. Within a month, 3 of them have blown. Not a good record out of such a small handful. We are now returning the lot, and replacing for a different brand to try and save face...
Hi All
I have a redundant stock of LED lamps. Unfortunately i over ordered on a job and cannot return as i have lost the receipt.
I got these lamps for trade price at £21 each. As most of you will know these lamps are top of the range and are the preferred LEDs alongside the Philips...
Im after a light fitting that will give of a nice orange/amber glow. Now i know that sons are amber ish colour but are they all this colour as they dont state on the box, or adverts on the net. Can anyone give a link to a fitting that will give of an orange glow , or at least a lamp to go in a...
Hi Guys
Anybody experienced exploding LED lamps? A small second hand clothes shop where I do a bit of maintenance replaced all of their silver halogen spotlights (ES) with equivalent LED. After about 9 months, one by one they started to explode, showering the shop window with glass. They are...
Hi guys, so I've moved into a new place but near enough every week a spotlight lamp will blow, tripping the RCBO and meaning I dish out £3 for a new lamp. This has been going on for a few months and now I've had 2 MK dimmer module switches blow on me in the last week. They are £25 a piece and I...

I'm looking for narrow beam LED spotlights for replacement into Gu10 or MR16 fittings
Osram do a product called 'Halospot' which has a beam angle of 8 degrees, though I'm struggling to find an LED equivalent. Dont wanna use halogens as they'll be fitted at high level...
Hello,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction regarding qualifications I would need to safely build and sell table lamps.
The information I have managed to find on google seems to refer mainly to domestic 'P' type qualifications and CE certification for manufactured...
I have recently replaced halogen spotlamps with energy saving version to a light fitting controlled by a dimmable switch. The lamps now constantly flicker and the transformer inside the dimmer is buzzing louder than usual. Any suggestions please ?
Hi Everyone can any one recommend good quality ELV LED lamps that work in most transformers without flickering and have a good lumens output (bright). Also I have been changing a lot of spots recently - Just want to know what you do when you come across ELV halogen light fittings and need to...
