Hi, how can I connect my Kewtech R2 lead to my Metrel MFT so that I do not have to carry the R2 reel with me whilst doing R2 testing? There was never an issue using a Megger but the Metrel utilises a block connector instead of 3 individual leads.
Thanks
Anyone have any recent experience on how long it takes from first phone call to actual installation for new phone connections to new build complex's in central London? Trying to give a ballpark to a client.
Running from house to a van home to power van there is two 15 amp points .I was hoping to run from a single power point a 15 amp lead with a double plug 15 amp extension lead..Will I need a 30 amp lead or will i require a electrician to install something at the main box from my house
As above, making some adapters for my MFT but seems a shame to butcher a set of leads - Ok you'll cut them in half and reuse both parts (banana plug section into a C15 and lead and probe section into a C16 (Male to Female).
Trying to figure if I should just buy a off the shelf 3 phase, 5 pin R2...

Evening All,
I'm changing a CU from rewirable to 6 x RCBO in a Victorian flat. The two lighting circuits are lead sheathed 2 core, they appear physically undamaged though I've yet to test them but is this an automatic EIC fail?
The switches and pendants are all plastic.
Thanks for any pointers,
Pete
Does anyone have one going spare? I appear to have misplaced it/them. I can find the crocs, GS38 tips but no leads.
Unlikely I use 3 lead testing bit it does my OCD no good not having them in the box ?
Hi,
1st post so go easy on me lol. just wondering if this is normal or if i should be looking for an issue?
Today i was fitting ferrules to the fly leads on a compleated cu,cu was fitted 2 weeks ago but did not have any ferrules at the time.
So upon dissconnecting each each lead (main switch...
Hi there,
If I’ve got a SWA, what size should my fly lead cable be from banjo to earth bar ? The wire armouring is only being used for mechanical protection and not by means of supplying a earth.
If I am using the SWA as means of a earth connection how do I size the fly lead then?
Hi just a quick question if doing long lead r2 test would touching a pin on a socket prove that it’s earthed for example? And if it did would it be accurate? Also on the eicr forms I seen it says you have to put a value for either r1+r2 or simply R2, I know you do the long lead R2 test for gas...
Two of us have had a shock from a lead that had been disconnected from a Singer sewing machine several hours earlier.
The machine is fairly new and not been heavily used.
The shock was definitely stronger than just static.
My concern particularly is that this is a machine being used with...
It's time for a new Wander lead, fed up with the reel falling over as soon as you pull a bit on the lead, I am leaning towards one of the box type, do any of you chaps have a suggested best buy? also do the box type reel out easily enough to just put them on the ground and pull the lead, I know...
I have read somewhere, (but I can't locate the source), that because the RCBO's electronic control operates at a very slightly higher potential than earth, there is a very small leakage to earth through the functional earth lead.
Is this correct or is my memory playing tricks?
Can anyone advise if it's legal for a business to sell electrical items in the UK that plug in to a mains outlet via a detachable "kettle" lead, but without supplying the lead with the item? (I'm thinking about things like PC power supply units)
hi Guys
has any of you got a damaged set of the new style red, blue and green megger test leads I’m only after the crock clip ends as I’ve misplaced mine.
Anyone who’s got a set for sale let me know
Many thanks
Lee
I have just replaced my electric cooker for gas and now have the lead for the ignition and clock training along the worktop to the cooker isolater on the wall.
I am capable of doing the following, but would like confirmation.
I cannot just cut off the plug and wire directly into the dedicated...
I attend a job today and can see the Main earth is via a tag to the SWA lead.
I called DNO and they informed me if the ze is within permitted Tn-s values (which it was 0.20 Ohm) then leave it in place. I requested a PME upgrade and they wasn't keen since this was in place.
Looking for some...
Hi All. got a call today from the plasterers to see if I can repair a cable they chopped whilst chiselling. going to have a look tomorrow but they have informed me its lead sheathed. I've seen it before but never had anything to do with it. I'm guessing its un repairable and rewire is the...
