Fairly new thatched house (less than 10 years old), owner wants some sockets put in the loft for an aerial booster.
All existing cables are twin and earth enclosed in a 16mm conduit! The conduit ends just above where a cable enters a room or stud wall, with maybe 20mm or so of cable exposed...

Hello All
Can anyone recommend a tried and tested loft aerial for digital freeview please? It doesn't have to be anything fancy.
Gone are the days when you could use a coat hanger.
Cheers
Hi guys
What do you do with the loft insulation when installing downlights. do you remove it and at what distance? Do you use hoods designed for the lights and keep the insulation?

Hi all,
I'm interested in views/evidence about the options for locating the inverter. I appreciate that the majority appear to located in lofts, but why?
As I understand it, keeping the inverter close to the panels reduces "transmission" losses, but that the higher ambient temps in summer have...
well yet another loft rewire coming up. Always find it tricky in some areas to avoid the insulation with the wiring. I would be interested to see what practical means people have to avoid the dreded insulaton affecting the cable, and keeping the cable out of the way.
Was doing a part rewire including upstairs lighting. This is what i found before starting!...Needless to say it was full of faults ...such as very low IR and poor continuity n all....In fact 2 of the bedroom lights wern`t working at all....Not suprising really....:D
From another (non electrical) forum, someone has posted a thread about changing a knackered pull-cord switch in the bathroom that he cannot seem to get working.
