Hi,
I am looking for a little advise on how to apply diversity and work out maximum demand on a new installation I am designing in a Cabin.
Cabin CU has 3 circuits
Circuit 1
6 Socket outlets - to supply 2.7KW Floor standing Hair dryer
Electric Oil filled radiator
Hand held hair dryer
Kettle...
hi guys. if i calculate maximum demand like i got 6 circuit
32a cooker
32a upstairs ring
32a down s. ring
20a,radial
6a upstairs light
6a down stairs light get the higgest one and add the rest together get 40% of it and finally add to highest one.. do u thing is that right??
and also do...
Hello All,
I am currently hitting a barrier with regards to the basics of this question. It is for a HND so I may have put this in entirely the wrong forum. Apologies if so.
A 50HZ supply is connected to various given impedance's connected in series and parallel. Calculate the value of the...
Hi guys having been out of college for 4 years some of my knowledge was left there I think
Looking to do a few maximum demand calc's but I'm insure where to start. I know all about maximum demand and diversity, just the calculation and formula I'm lacking.
Commercial property ze = 0.055...
Hi everyone just a little confused, when calculating volt drop using table 4Ab do you measure the voltage of the installation and use that value to calculate or do you just use the 230 volt value
Hi when filling out a e.i.c. and it asks for maximum demand, is that the size of cut out fuse or does it mean working out all loads on circuits using diversity, shows what 2 yrs at college taught us.
In order to meet current regulation the maximum meter tail length should be no more than 3M and if over a 100amp fused switch should be fitted - is that correct.
(This guidline is not in the iet on-site guide except that this maybe specified by the distributor)
521.10.1 mentions that the tails...
when working out the maximum demand am I right that it should be below 100A
Just working one out on a job and find the lighting comes to 4.5A
cooker comes to 22.5A (no cooker there to check actual consumption so assumed 8000w)
shower comes to 38A
and the power is 58A assuming i have worked it...
bit of help please guys,
I have a CU with a 40 amp breaker feeding the electric shower, its on 10mm cable.
My calculation is 8500W div by 230V = 36.9A, therefore 8.5 Kw is the largest shower but mate says 40A with 10mm is fine for 10.5Kw.
Does an electric shower class as water heater...
Hello all,
I will be getting assessed very, very soon now! I’ve completed the consumer unit change and am just having a bit of a panic as I’ve worked out the maximum demand and it exceeds the supply fuse by quite a bit.
I realise the assessor is not likely to questions my figures so I could...
Hi guys, Just after some pointers. Looking to update fuseboard to my sisters property, needed a d/p isolator that was installed, and electricity board said main service head is porcelin and will need changing or new supply to propery as the original supply is looped from next door. most likely...
One of my clients asked me if there was a maximum Zs value when it came to testing the Main incoming supply of a TN-S system, as i'm not fully sure my gut instinct was that it depended on the type of system.
Can someone assist me?
What is the maximum earth loop impedance to BS7671:2008 for a circuit protected by a 20A BS88 (gG) fuse giving a 5 second disconnection time is:
A: 7.42
B: 2.91
C: 1.84
D: 1.35
The green book says the ln for this type of fuse is 78A p299, that doesnt give you the right answer though.
:confused5:
Just got back from a call-out, simple case of cooker taking the RCD out. A twin oven, seems in good working order so after a bit of a faff managed to get a clamp over the cpc at the switch (no idea where the house rod is!) and sure enough the bottom oven is leaking about 10mA when firing. So...
Sure I am missing something obvious here but having recently gotten into PAT I am confused by some of the extra long extension reels available.
The code of practice for in service inspection & test states clearly the maximum allowable length of extension leads in relations to csa of the core...
guys need a little advice
i am asked to supply a new lighting circuit to a small comercial property the property is supplyed by a single phase /100 amp main fuse/ this runs to a small 4 way fuse board with x 4, 40 amp fuses in wich in turn supplys 4 loads ,1x 40 amp load 1x 40 amp load 1 x...
was wondering if anyone had a chart, table, list or anything of the sort stating maximum permitted ZS measured for breaker types, ratings and ka ratings? thanks, Ben
Hi all
Just new to testing and inspection so can you help me.
When you need the maximum Zs for a circuit do you use the overcurrent device for the entire installation(ie bs 88 cartridge fuse) or would you use the breaker for the individual circuit when using the tables in the on site guard to...
Still at work as I'm doing this post come across a 80amp kmf 16 mm mains t&e
on a 4 bed hse 15mtrs long clipped direct no insulation round it to db.
Anyone want to work it out?
