At the college I attend they have just updated all of they're testers from Megger 1552's to Megger 1730's
Running through the test sequence the other day i noticed that all of the loop settings are different to the previous ones on the 1552
I asked the tutor but didn't really grasp what he was...
Does anyone know for sure that a new MFT does not need calibrating until 12 months after it is brought into service. Some suppliers seem to want to charge for a calibration certificate when it is brand new.
Looking to buy a new tester and was just wondering is there much difference between the 1552/1553 and the 1720/1730? I know that the higher spec one has the Bluetooth function but am I as well buying the older version as I plan to buy 2nd hand? Cheers

Which one is best for new electrical installation sign off? will they do the RCD ramp test?
Robin 1610 Multifunctional Tester Megger Loop Rcd Fluke Electrical Tester
KEWTECH KT62 DIGITAL MULTIFUNCTION TESTER MEGGER LOOP RCD
Do's the robin 1610 mft megger loop rcd fluke comply with GS38, BS7671 and part p?
I would like it for domestic installation, to do all the tests that are need to sign off a new installation according to regs.
Any body selling a second hand MTF that complies with BS7671 / Part p?
Would prefer that it had calibration certificate with at least a few months.
I live in Hull so prefer it if I could look before buying?

Just thought I'd thank test-meter for agreeing to take my Fluke MFT for calibration last Friday at Elex, Sandown. It was just out of calibration and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.
I'm not aware of anyone local to me offering calibration, so it saved having to pack it up and take it...

Can somebody help me please?
I'm just finishing a rewire, and I've installed a GF radial cicuit in a large domestic property and am in the process of testing it. It's a new radial circuit, 2.5 T&E, 13 sockets, 20A type B breaker on an RCD protected board. My R1&R2 = 1.40 and Ze = 0.20, so my...
