Hi All,
NAPIT have today informed me that my Dad is not acceptable for full scope due to not having an NVQ Level 3. He has been industry assessed and has a Gold JIB Card, and the 17th Ed, and the 2391, but apparently this is not enough.
Has anyone else had this problem before, and is there a...
Now chaps, could we all refrain from Electrical Trainee/DI type comments please, they have been put to death, oops sorry done to death my mistake. However, it's a fact of life for us guys that do a bit of house bashing, that we need to be a member of a scam. Scheme I've done it again. I have been sent quite a...
Hi all
I have recently set up on my own and after joining nic/eic or napit ETC Which one is the best in terms of cost and helpfulness ??
Also where's best to advertise ? I do yell.com, Facebook, Twitter, google+ and have a website

Hello to all you NAPIT members out there. Just thought id make a post with regards to NAPI's Desktop certification software.
Whats everyones opinions on it?
Personally Im unimpressed, I've been using it for a few months now and it just feels cheap and poorly thought out. Which is annoying when...
Is there much pref between, obviously full scope NIC has its prestige but its not worth the cash this year.
The website doesn't have the price for NIC domestic at the moment, but elecsa looks a tad cheaper than napit...
I notice that fully qualified sparks are starting to rebel against being mothered and bled by these organisations .....
Have any of you guys got advice for dealing directly with building control ?
I really cant see why I should pay one of these organisations to go over my work when I'm fully...
Hello all I am looking at doing a 3 day course at the Napit training centre in bristol next month, has anyone been the before? And where did you stay?? I don't fancy paying out an extra £200 on a hotel on top of the £600 for the course!! Thanks in advance.

Sorry for being so thick, but just filling out first NAPIT Cert.
Just wondered what should go in description of installation box.( Do I just put domestic).
I have put what I done in extent of electrical installation covered by this report box. Thank you.
well it's now 18 months since i left napit and no problems to report , I am still doing domestic (mostly unfortunately) and all I do is download IEE certs (filled in on my laptop) and forward them to BC. Only once have these been questioned and I just emailed them my city and guilds...
Newbie here!
Hopefully I've posted in the right section!!
I have my assessment coming up for Napit in a couple of weeks and they haven't sent me a checklist or anything informing me of what the inspector/assessor will be asking or wanting to see. It will be my first time joining an...
Hello all. I currently use napit desktop to do all my certs. I am about to get a new laptop and wondered if I can just download the programme again or if it can only be used on one computer. Anyone been through this who knows?
I have my Napit assessment in 3days and I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly I only just got the phone call today off the assessor
So if anyone has any last minute advice I would very much appreciate it
Thanks.
*** OBVIOUSLY BEFORE I SELL THESE TO SOMONE, YOU'll NEED TO SHOW YOU ARE A MEMBER OF NAPIT! ***
"NAPIT Periodic Report on an existing electrical installation" code NA/PIR/001 (V1) - runs from serial number 55657 to 55675 (19 sets left). Obviously not for use on a domestic but still useful to...
Hi All
This is my first post as I'm new to the forum.
I have my initial NAPIT Assessment next week and could really do with advice on what you need to show them and questions to expect, as the checklist that was sent me was not that informative other than to show the documents Ive already got...
Hi all, I am joining Napit and my assessment is at the end of the month. I have just finished a complete rewire of a flat I own 30 miles from where I live. Up until this present day I have always been employed by a company so any certs I have written have been on behalf of the company I work...
They are asking for 2394 C&G within 12 months of signing up, good grief cant i just do the job i have been doing for 30 years without all this damn expense and courses.
It seems are lot of clients are specifying NIC only for their contracts, insurance work etc,so why do,nt Napit start inspecting commercial/industrial work on the annual visit,so they can claim their members are more than house bashers.Regards,Sinewove
Just wondering how building control notification is sorted.
Currently, we carry out all works ourselves. Therefore building control is no issue.
But what if the electrics was subbed out? The electrician would then be responsible for notifying his electrics but how is Part A satisfied...
