I need to arrange for electric and gas tobe reconnected in a property. The incoming supply gas pipe is next to (as in 2-3cm) to the incoming electric. Is there a requirement for separation? As this is an existing property is it ok to reinstall in the same place, or will one need moving?
Hello you brilliant people,

In two minds about underfloor heating, am wondering what the advantages and disadvantes are with these types of heating. I´ve installed a few electric underfloor heating systems but only on a small scale. Never come across the water pipe underfloor heating, what do you guys think is...
Got a CU change to do on a family members house. and hope to use this install at part of my Elecsa assessment
I don't think that the gas pipe is bonded at the moment but it will be a right pain running some a cable to it as its the other side of the house.
The main water bond will be fine...

Hi,
Advise needed,

Hi People,
Looked at a job today which requires adjustments to the CU and noticed there is 16mm from CU to MET which is cool, 10mm from MET to Gas main incoming, and bonding between all pipes coming in and out of the boiler linked off the GAS main bonding.
When I pointed out that there...
Hi all,
I need to get the bonding sorted on a house I'm working on. The gas bonding is OK but the water bonding is looking to be a real pain.
Would it be acceptable to sort out the gas bonding then just link a cold-water pipe to one of the gas pipes?
Thanks very much
As title says really?
Heard people say use in some form of piping to make life easier in future should you need to replace/pull in new cable
Others say bury direct?
What's your views
Cheers
we're currently doing a call center office. just quick question sir, is pipe banding really required in an enclosed ceiling? or pipe banding is only applicable in an open ceiling area where electrical pipes are exposed?
thanks
Hi guys, Does anyone know where I can find a suitable bonding clamp for a domestic oil supply pipe which I guess will be around 10mm outside diameter? Failing that does anyone have a good alternative method for bonding to these micro-bore type pipes?
head one to day " no need to bond the oil pipe with 10mm earth cable M8 as its plastic coated copper ya see"
"ohh and the tanks made of plastic"
new reg i've not read yet?
Just wanting to know what size the thread is on one of these valves. Its the type of valve you turn with a flat blade screwdriver to turn on and off.
When I say the thread, I'm on about the compression nut
Hi,
I have recently carried out a periodic test and inspection on 1960s purpose built flat. The means of earthing was via the main gas pipe connected by earth clamp before the gas meter.
Is this acceptable under BS 7671 2008? I had a Ze reading on 0.19 ohms.
Gents,
Got a slight problem with a CU install.
The incoming water pipe is sunk into the wall, so I am unable to get to the pipe to put earth clamp and run 10mm earth to MET. The pipe does go to the kitchen sink and to the combi boilier next to the kitchen sink but the CU is on the other...

I have just visited a property which has no bondings to gas and water pipes, I thought no problem to rectify, other than getting customer to pay for more than they wanted doing. My problem is the incoming water pipe is completely buried in a wall except for the spindle sticking out.The only pipe...
