if (for arguments sake)you're exporting PME with a swa submain-not converting to TT
can the 'main bond' be used as 'cpc' or should they be separate
should the main bond be at least minimum csa required and kept to less than 0.05ohms
thanks
Evening all,
I was talking to a colleague today who was saying that if he couldn't get a good enough Ze reading from a TT system he would convert it to a PME. Can he do this?? Sorry again if this is a really basic question but I for some reason thought this was down to the supplier eg EDF
Cheers
Hi all,
I have just been to price a CU change. The problem is the CU is about 20m from the mains position and is run in 16mm T&E. Here's the good bit the 16mm runs through a neighbours flat, so it can not be replaced and I can not run an earth next to it. I can, though not easily, run another...
Just been to a subdivided house - now up+downstairs flats. There are two earth rods which go to a single earth block under the floor, then leave the block as two earths up to the C/Us. (Effectively each flat is connected to the two spikes). There is a single mains head with 100A BS1361 fuse...
Went and had a look at a potential job, on the main incomer the label readed this electrical system is supplied by pme earthing.
I looked outside and saw the property was supplied via an overhead line. Can this still be a pme system?
I called western power to come and sort the earth out for a customer, so they said we only do tn-c-s pme. when the chap came he did a tn-s with a strap on the cable!! i said to the guy thats a tn-s he said no its a pme.
what do i but on the EIC Tn-s.
also he said that they only fit a max of...
I am looking from some advice regarding installing an SWA cable from a house to a stand alone garage some 20 metres from the house. The incoming supply to the house is PME. I understand that I will need to put in a seperate earth electrode for the garage installation. I am installing a seperate...
just been to have a look at some electrical work on a house, underneath the main fuse there is a trafolite label saying PME system but the supply authority haven't supplied an earth, someone has clipped a 6mm cable down the side of the house and buried the end in the ground (stripped a foot of...
Been to a property recently that has a TN-C-S supply installed, but the innstallation earthing is via a spike. As the supply has recently been installed I was going to move the earthing back to the supplier (Scottish Power) unfortunately when tested, the Ze was 0.79. An engineer has just been...
Hi all,
Was hoping for a bit of advice on this,
Existing pme supply to domestic house, a supply needed to a shed, an avery, anothershed then a metal framed shed , all these out buildings are strung down a long garden over 40 meters.
My thoughts were to export pme to a submain, lets say Db1...
