    2391 (R1+R2) 0n motor

Guys i got my 2391 practical on friday & was wondering when R1+R2 on a 3 phase motor, i would test seperatly across each line & cpc fromt he ccu to the supply side of the unit & then from the load side to the actual starter & the add the amounts together giving me 3 R1+R2 readings(1 for each...

2330 lvl 2 Practical test. R1+R2 for swa?

Help! Currently doing the practical test for Level 2 2330. Have to inspect and test this week coming. I think I have a good grasp of all the dead testing we need to do BUT have just been swotting up in the Onsite Guide and I've found something that has not been mentioned so far at college. One...

OK, please collect me if wrong..... Measure end to end... line, cpc and neautral add line and cpc resistance then divide by 4 ??? Record on test sheet????

R1+R2 and Zs - Don't know where the light circuit ends!

If you genuinely can't tell where a lighting circuit ends (due to the way in which it has been wired) I presume you would test for R1+R2 and Zs at every point and then record the highest reading?

    r1+r2 testing

hi all just reading up on continuity testing (r1+r2 test) say i have a ring main of 40m long serving 10 sockets.. the reading i have got is say 0.35ohms but on 1 socket i have a higher reading of 0.46ohms now i have learnt at collage this may be caused due to a loose connection could...

    Continuity of cpc's R1+R2

Hi guys, when testing continuity of cpc's r1+r2 method, with main switch isolated, can you link from the live bus bar to the main earth bar in the C.U with a small croc clip and just turn mcb on for the circuit under test? If not at which exact point would you link the line and earth in the C.U?

First CU change - high R1+R2 reading and other problems!

Hi Hope someone can put me on the right track here as I'm going in circles. Ok I set out to do a straightforward CU change (at home) for my ELECSA assesment - or so I thought. I'm fairly happy with testing on new circuits but these are around 15 years old. My overall question is what level...

    R1+R2 dissapointment.

Completed a small job PIR carriage lights, on a garage, controlled by a standard light switch inside the garage. Testing R1+R2 the result seemed high, approx 6M of 1.5 t&e (1.24R). I know you be screeming, it were the switch contacts, as I am a newbie it took me a while longer to sus the dodgy...

    R1+R2 confused???

When doing PIR`s is it only continuity of final ring that you can find R1+R2??? If so how do you measure R2 for the report??? Im not quite sure!!! Im trying to make sense of it??? I know ZS is ZE+r1+r2 can anyone make sense of this for me!!!

    R1+r2

hI guys, Wonder if any of you can clarify the reason why you test at furfest ceiling rose when doing the R1+R2 reading on a lighting circuit as no matter which way i look at it the switch opperating that ceiling rose covers the same distance so why cant you take the reading from that unless of...

    R1+R2 result?

had a R1+R2 result of 1.70 ohms on light cct. Ze is 0.10 ohms, (tnc-s) but measured ZS was 0.96 ohms. could this be to paralell paths on the bonding?

How do you R1+R2 test a lighting circuit spured from a ring main

Hi Just wondered if anyone can give me abit of advice when inspecting and testing how do you go about a lighting circuit R1+ R2 and Zs.. ect when it is spured from a Ring Main circuit. Any info would be gratefully received thanks pete

    r1+r2 too high

hi folks Carried out all my r1+r2 tests in db and recorded, carried out ze and zs tests.Comparing the results, my r1+r2 are higher than my zs in some circuits, i have read its earth parrallel paths. What results should i record on test sheet as formula zs= (r1+r2) +ze suggests my results are...

    R1+R2 query

Hi I've done a fuse board change on a piece of private land that has two static caravans on it. Main fuse board feeds to the two vans, two external plugs, and a wash house. All hunkdory, except the wash house is fed by a two wire swa to the submain in the house, and staked down there. As I...

High ZS but R1+R2 and Ze ok

Just extended a ring to include 4 more sockets. Arangement =T-N-C-S ZE of .27 and R1 + R2 of the ring is .67 ohms max So by calc Zs should be .94 ohms. Im getting 1.3 ohms on zs test at sockets. anything from 0.7 to 1.3 ohms around the ring.

    Lighting - R1+r2 Or R2

Do you remove all light fittings (inc Chandeliers at top of high stairs onl your own :( ) and remove all light switches and do R1 + R2 at every lighting point in circuit. or Just R2 wonder lead with an R1+R2 at the last point of the circuit. R1+R2 on lighting circuit.

when testing a lighting circuitthat consists of Switched live, neutral, cpc and permenant live (for emergency lights in the row) which would you note as your R1+R2 test. I tested both the lives and neutral and cpc for continuity and then I did an r1+r2 test on both sw live and permenant live...
