Hello all..
I'm quoting for some work and would like change the type AC RCBO to a type A.
Consumer unit is a castlec which I have not come across before. I can see from their site they make them, but cannot find them for sale?
Also, are they rebranded? Is there another identical breaker that...
I have an issue with a home lighting circuit 6A RCBO provides power to 13 bulbs which randomly keeps tripping, when I say randomly it keeps tripping with no switches or even bulbs being attached to the circuit. Even trips when other appliances that are not on that lighting circuit are not being...
Hi all
Now being upfront I am not a sparks.
I am about to have some work done by a friend (certified) and as he is doing me a favour I want to as much ground work and speccing up as I can.
So heres the situation.
we have a summer house at the end of the garden which is being fed by swa from a...
Evening all . Just a quick question what do you guys typically charge for an rcbo spd consumer unit change 14 way . 10/11 rcbos few spare ways . New meter tails . All certified /notified
Cheers
Came across a cooker circuit with 10mm and 40A rcbo. Last leg was 6mm. Isolator to outlet. I downgraded to rcbo to 32A to accommodate the 6mm. Does the cable have to be the same throughout? If so what is the reg for this please. 🤔
So I had an inquiry to make an electric panel (single phase) with RCBO, but it seems like our customer uses type C and F power plug (I live in Indonesia). This plug doesn't have a guide to ensure the Neutral would always be in Neutral side & Live to always be in Live side. Can I still use RCBO...
Hi
Doing my first Inverter and Battery install on a domestic property having just completed my EESS course with LCL.
Question is how do I install a bi directional RCD/RCBO at the distribution board to supply and feed back power from the the inverter? I think I need an RCBO to the standard...
Last week I took the opportunity of having the mains power off to test the RCBOs in a Wylex Consumer Unit, fitted nearly 5 years ago, which has the following:
1 off NHXS1B40, 4 off NHXS1B32, 2 off NHXS1B16, 3 off NHXS1B06 and 1 off NHXS1B25
Now on Test, the B40 switch went to the mid position...
Hi Guys
Forget to take cover off on last visit, back there Tue and need to sort some RCD protection.
Will this rcbo fit in this 'older starbreaker' DB ? couple pics attached
Thanks Sy
Hello,
I’ve got my AM2S coming up and I’ve been revising like mad but I’m stuck on something.
I’ve read that it’s a 3 phase board with just one RCBO for the ring circuit. Assuming they want me to do a global IR test, can I take the conductors out of the RCBO, switch it off, and then test...
Hi ,
Currently doing a design project in college and I need to pick a circuit breaker ( In device rating and type) for a food holding equipment unit that requires a 16A 400V three phase and neutral supply that is supplied by 5 core SWA. I think I should pick a 16A 3P+N RCBO but wasn't completely...
I have a general RCBO (in attached image) Merlin Gerin multi 9 ID' clic 40A 30mA that protects a house and a second portable RCBO Siemens 10mA that protects a power strip. I tested different RCBO 10mA marked as sensible (some designed for bathroom, high humidity) in this portable power strip -...
I have a small caravan park with 8 pitches. Each have a Rolec Electrical Hook-Up unit fitted with a Rolec 16A Single Pole and Neutral 2 Module C Curve 6kA 30mA RCBO.
I've recently fitted meters to these units which display voltage, Current and kW. I was surprised to see that some of the...
Hello,
Which amendment of the 18th BS7671 required RCDs for protecting lighting circuits (domestic)? I was told it’s amendment 2. Is that correct? Or is it amendment 1?
Thanks
There are 2 inverters feeding into a dorman smith C16 rcbo , every time I visit this site (communal area power) it has tripped.
it switches on first time and never trips when im on site (though there is cloud cover today).
all the correct DC and AC isolators are present the inverters are a...
I've got a dual rcd mk sentry board that I want to inverter into an rcbo board. If I link the two neutral bars from the main switch is this OK to do regs wise? Thanks
So I have just swapped over to using fusebox as my go to brand for CUs and I noticed they stock a 25A RCBO…mmmmmm
do any of you use these a great deal?
a slightly more generous 2.5mm radial(conditions allowing of course) than the standard 20A
or a 4mm radial under various derating conditions...
I will start with apologies, as I have not thought this through very much (at all) yet and have just sat down with a beer.... meaning I thought I'd ask the collective.
CU change today. I did my pre checks and I knew I had a major IR fault on the cooker circuit (N-E 0.3ohms, yes that figure is...
