    NEFF C17MR02 Oven tripping RCD

6 year old Neff combi Oven/Microwave trips the Schneider 30mA EZ9R33263 RCD on our distribution board when we try to use the convection oven but runs the microwave fine, even on MAX setting. One of us (not me) slightly nuked one of those part-baked baguettes using the microwave but hardly any...

UK The RCD test button on my tester trips the wall sockets

We recently moved house (May 2024). The property is old (some >250 years), quite large with different outbuildings/extensions. From time to time the main power will trip (sockets not lighting). So I got out my cheap socket tester and all's well on various outlets, until that is I press the RCD...

    RCD Trips

Hello, I'm not an electrician. My RCD at home constantly trips. I tried turning off the power, resetting the RCD and putting the circuits back one by one, to work out what was tripping it. All were okay, except when I turned back on 'downstairs sockets' or 'upstairs sockets' either one of those...

    Delayed tripping on RCD

Not even sure where to start with this… Got a split board RCD which is tripping after 10mins of being ON. Never had this before. I thought I identified the circuit with the fault (RCD trips immediately when circuit on) but looks like a fault on more than 1 circuit Customer just had a brand new...

Distribution circuits in Section 705 location, RCD needed?

I just want to check how I should be interpreting section 705. 705.411.1 states required disconnection devices, the first two indents covering final circuits and sockets, requiring 30ma and 100ma RCD's depending on rating of socket. Indent 3 says " all other circuits" need 300ma RCD. Does that...

    RCD testing

Hello all. Can anyone inform me on what the latest guidance on the frequency of RCD testing is? I test my RCD's annually and record the x1/2, x1 and x5 trip and 0-180degrees annually, and replace failures. I also carry out a functional test whilst I'm doing this, and then a further functional...

    UK RCD tripping explanation

As a keen adult learner any help would be appreciated I understand that an RCD trips when there is an imbalance detected between L and N. If a 30mA RCD is monitoring several circuits (in a split board for example) and one of the circuits is protected by a 32A Type B MCB. I'm trying to...
