Hi, after a bit of advice. Have tried a lot of plumbing and electrical shops but no one seems able to help. I have an Isolator/PSU 230v/12v. It is in line with an isolator switch and a fused on/off switch. All linked to a power shower (gravity fed). It can run off of normal mains with a 3 amp...
Hi,
I've got a customer who wants a 10.5 kW shower installed in his bathroom. As it happens he already has two unused 4mm T&E cables run from the CU cupboard to the loft. I know it's unconventional but is there any reason I can't use these cables to make a dedicated RFC for just the shower...
Hi guys. I was wondering what size cable and braker I'd need for an electric shower.
Just out of intrest am I close in guessing as follows:
The shower unit is an 8.5kw. Total meters to C/U is about 15meters. 10mm cable, 40A fuse. the cable will be solely for the shower supply, and RCD 1way...
Bathroom with an electric shower wired to the latest regs with a 40A MCB and RCD protection. Is the disconnection time 0.4s or 5s.
Looking at the regs it states fixed equipment up to 32A is 0.4s so everything after that unless it has a socket outlet can be 5s, but its a bathroom where...
This could possible have been a poll, but really just opening up for suggestions and feedback on where folks think an isolation switch for an electric shower should be located. Some obvious choices are:
Pull cord inside bathroom
Wall switch inside bathroom (outside of zones, obviously)
Wall...
Hi,
We are renting and have a electric shower downstairs (extension) - a 9.5kW Triton T80Z fast-fit electric shower as well as a combi boiler Viessmann Vitodens 100-W B1KC 35 kW. Upstairs is a standard shower/bath direct from boiler.
Our family members tend to use the downstairs electric...
Hi, I`m looking for an advice.
I have an electric shower that I`m not using due to boiler changed to combi and added shower over bath feed by a 6mm cable and 40 amps fuse. The cable is quite newish (blue & brown) compared with the rest of the house (red & black).
I want to create a new radial...
I replaced the Thermal cut out on the shower and all's good then 3 days later I receive a call that its only pushing out cold water again, any thoughts what's causing the operation of the cut out, the water pressure is good
Hey all,
Ive been in and out of a huge house rewiring as the renovate it for a year of so. Every is thing done and dusted except the downstairs shower. I ran a 10mm from the CU to a stud partition where the Isolator sits and then onto the shower. About 15-20m in total.
Ive gone back today and...
Hi all,
The PRD went on my Triton electric shower. I opened it up to find out where a replacement would go, and someone mentioned that the wiring was wrong. Could any of you experts out there confirm based on the attached? They said is has live/neutral reversal and it's missing the cable grip.
Went back it a house after they upgraded shower to a 9.8kw, pulling 40a constant.
We had wired it with 10sq and 40a RCBO.
10sq Neutral cable looping from neutral bar to RCDs and on to shower RCBO melted at neutral bar.
That's fair enough, must have been pulling a fair whack through it.
So I...
Bit of a strange one ive been told by everyone ive called
had a triton t70xr 8.5kw
The water started running cold like the tco kicked in
after a few days of this happening, three times, the last time it took longer to come back and then only warm
Only half the can heated up, the full power...
I know I'm cheating a bit but I'd put money on it that some of you guys know a bit about plumbing.
Basically, the Shower doesn't get that hot. I don't think it has since the boiler( I'm not 100% this was when) was changed. But the Sink and everywhere else does. They paid to have a new shower...
I am reviewing a EICR for a property I am buying. The vendor has had the EICR done, but both the Cooker and Shower are on 40A 60898 B curve mcbs and the cable type is shown as 2.5mm2 type A install methord C. I suspect a clerical error but as it is in the vendor document pack what would you...
At a bread and butter job, loose socket, socket not working, change two lights.
Sticking out rather like a sore thumb was this (I removed the wire to check size):
I finished the other work, then said could I have a look at the shower as I've got a concern.
It was 8.5kw shower. 6 sq mm cable at...
hi everyone, I'm in the process of converting an outbuilding into a granny annex which will have an electric shower installed I've been told I'll need a shower priority unit positioned in the main house next to the cu which will then feed the annex shower directly without need to involve the...
Just had an electric shower installed. Electrician put the wire in low so the unit is at waist height when stood in the shower enclosure. Is this going to be safe to use long term? I was assured it was as they're 'waterproof' but I'm not sure. Any advice? I expressed my concerns to the fitter...
