Has anyone had any problems with east /f west/f systems?
Went back to an install lastweek only generated 6.5kw in 5 days (4.0kw system)With pv1 3.6 not good! Customer going mental!
I am a solar installer and i have been told that i can use a mc4 splitter to connect 1 string in to both connections on inverter as they had done this before to spread the load surly this can not be right.
as a splitter is used for 2 strings going in to 1 not the other way around
Hi Guys,
During a visit to a rented property on behalf of a local agent it was noted that the RCD in the split load board was 100mA. The property is a 1st floor flat, PME and the protected circuits are cooker & sockets. It's a Proteus board with a beast of an RCD that swallows up 4 ways...
I have just had installed a Aurora power one split invertor and have 6 250W Solarworld panels facing east, plus 6 facing west.
How do I know if both sides are working correctly ?
I have no manual on the Aurora but from the panel readout I assume that PIN 1 is for one set of panels and PIN 2 is...

Question I have been called out to a job that has a number of 3 phase boards supplied by neutral blocks so there is no main switch to isolate all the boards does anybody know the regulation number to which this contravenes please any help would be great thanks
Hi all can anyone explain how to carry out fault finding on a ring main using the splitting the ring technique.
Other than splitting a socket and testing each way do you have to do anything in the consumer unit, ie do you leave the wires in the circuit breakers and bus bars or do you split...

hi my customer wants me to change her fuseboard for a 17th edition at her home.i went today to pretest the circuits and found that there was no neutral continuity on the kitchen ring and no earth continuity on the upstairs ring.My client has just had the whole house decorated and the decorators...
Hi, im after some advice on an east/west split with a 4000tl please. I would assume it wise to turn on the optitrac feature due to the consistant shading issues an e/w system on a pitched roof would have? Has anyone ever compared yields with it on/off? All advice most welcome as this will be my...
Im getting a system installed with what should be a split 3kw ( 12 suntech 250's) with what should be an aurora 3000 inverter. one half is south east the other is west. It includes scaffolding ect. Does this sound ok? and is there anything i need to be careful about for the install. Im not that...
We are having to rush a decision on which of two quotes to give the go ahead to - both who can fit us in for install by end of november. Unfortunately our preferred installer (most reputable) couldn't fit us in.
The chap we've so far given our deposit to (with a 14 day cool -off available)...
Installing 10kw on a split phase / 2 phase / 480v / single phase, 3 wire (or whatever you want to call it) supply.
system is made up of 2 x 5kw arrays with two single phase inverters. Do you meter each inverter separate or can you use one three phase meter and just not use one of the poles?
Guys
I'm changing a fuseboard next week, it has 2 power circuits one cooker and one lighting circuit,it hardly seems worthwhile putting a split rcd board in will one rcd covering all the circuits satisfy the 17th?
I've a possible job coming up where I'd need to add a circuit to a domestic property which has several spare ways both protected by 30mA rcd's the circuit I will be installing can't go on a 30mA rcd and will be surface ,usually in conduit/trunking and so I'll get a split load kit for it and add...
Looking some advice / guidance, new installation recently finished, got sent to the house today where the owner informed me that the power was intermittently tripping, hadn't to much time to check everything but one thing I noticed was if I put any load on the kitchen ring the rcd on the other...
We have won a job installing a split system with three Suntech 250's at -10 degrees from due south and another three at +80 degrees from due south.
My initial choice was to use Enecsys Micro inverters but due to these not being available until mid October and the customer wanting the system...
Hi,
Has anyone had any experience connecting PV onto a split phase supply?
Should I be balancing single phase inverters to supply each phase? 3 phase inverters are a no go?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Paul
Had a look at a split load 17th edition RCD CU, quite new - one of the sides has a solid copper neutral that runs off to the Neutral bar on the DP isolator of the CU. Basically, due to a loose connection, a bit of Arking has gone on and made a mess. I want to put a new Neutral in to replace the...

I rang my wholesalers today and asked for a price on a high integrity consumer unit saying it needs to have the 3 neutral bars. he left me 5 mins and rang me back with a price.
He said it comes with a 100a isolator and that's it, I asked how is it split... Like a 5+5+2 ect.... He then said...
