Hello everyone,
I hope someone can kindly advise on an issue I'm having.

I currently have 3 spotlights that are controlled by a switch and I'd like to replace these with wired floodlights. Would it be possible to reuse the existing wiring + switch?
Hello,
Last year we started getting really high readings over the colder months (we'd expected this but not 5x the amount of electricity being used) We contacted a family friend who was an engineer who said that our meter is incorrectly wired up. We then spoke to our energy provider with this...
Trying to replace some existing Brick lights which have rusted and the bulbs have blown. Anyway, after finally managing to get the thing open, I looked at the wiring and first of all noticed the wires were brown, black and grey - there are 2 of each. Second of all it looks like the black wires...
In other words, can every fixture, switch, appliance, etc go directly to a manifold of sorts so you could program/reprogram the switch to turn on different things? Kind of like using a freshwater manifold system instead of a traditional branch system. I KNOW i'm ignorant and there must be good...
testing a property there, the sockets were wired in black rubber 2 core with bare stranded earth coming into the boxes. Done all the Ring tests and everything was fine, continuity between all conductors and R1+R2 fine also. Just wondering is it safe because you got the 2 core cable without a cpc...
Hi, can anybody walk me through on the CEC side on figuring out the breaker and wire size for a 240V, 15.7kW electric furnace. I am an electrician and have not worked on residential for a while.
Thank you.
Hi all,
so I bought a Ring wired ring door bell on Amazon prime day, £45 with free echo dot!
Anyway fitted as per instructions and it works fine. The Ring app tells me the transformer voltage is good.
BUT now my living room lights won’t turn on?
The doorbell and downstairs lights are on...
As per title any ideas, car just cut out dead and will not start unless I pull the 2 wire plug off the high pressure pump solenoid. I also get no reading at all on the dianostic fuel pressure check. I have 72 psi when connecting my fuel pressure gauge to the line.
Outside light wired in 0.5mm flex but protected by a 3amp fuse. A 0.5mm flex max is 3A current carrying capacity, would you give that a code for an EICR? Cable size is small but it’s protected by the fuse, was thinking maybe a C3 due to it being a flex outside
Hi

Hey guys,
I recently bought and installed a Ring Doorbell Wired. I followed the instructions and installed it into my existing doorbell wiring.
Just a few days later I realized that it was “Offline”. There haven’t been any power outages, the wifi and pw are unchanged.
So I ran through the...

Hi, I'm after a bit of validation please just to make sure I have got the right setup. I am looking at installing some 240V GU10 IP65 rated buried uplighters into my decking. I would like to control the lights using a wireless dimmer that I have chosen (please see photo attached) and power the...
Because I have no wall outlet grounded anywhere in the house, I asked an electrician to help and the solution that didn't involved destroying the walls was to wire a power strip directly into the electrical panel (i got one right where the entrance is, I don't know the exact name but every...
Hi,
I'm thinking of replacing my 8 gang switches which are all 20Amp DP to newer MK ones. One of them is marked "Hob" but actually controls the oven. The switch on the other side of the kitchen near the Hob and cooker actually controls the Hob. I think this is a 45Amp style switch. This is how...
Hi All,
