If a like for like change is done but it's not in compliance with the new regs is a risk assessment always required?
Also where does the "like for like" terminology come from?
I use my own MEIWC that I based on the NICEIC's version below:
Can someone confirm if the NICEIC are using the same certificate or if it has changed due to the 18th edition.
Also if it has changed, please could someone upload a scan on the newer version for me to use as a template.
thanks

When doing a Minor works for an additional spurred socket or extra light fitting on a circuit, should the R1+R2 measurement be taken from the protective...

Had an electrician completed re-wire on my property but sent me a scanned copy of EIC. I was hoping I would receive a digital one via E-Cert with his details, etc. Can that be not done – he completes on e-Cert and I receive a copy as well to my email?
Also, I was on the impression that...

Hello everybody! I'm currently completing evening classes at my local college to get my level 2, recently I have been taking a look at the consumer's unit of friends, family (this sounds really sad as I'm typing it) just to gain some more experience of the various types, intake, earthing...
Hello everyone, I've been an electrician for some time now & have worked in B.M.S, commercial, industrial & domestic environments at some level or another over the years. I am once again self employed (which I do prefer due to the earning potential) & expect to bag a significant job late next...
So I am currently registered with the NICEIC as a domestic installer, but I need to fill in a minor works for adding a spur to an existing ring as a dental surgery.
As I can't do this via NICEIC, can I download a model form, fill that in and give it to the client?

Odd one today .. all 6 Hager rcbo's in a tn+n db have the test buttons not working..

Now..I guess I'm going to have to fail them..even though they work fine.
Hager technical say they have never heard of this.

Posted this in the wrong section:
We had our electrical engineer talk to us all later week regarding testing. It was agreed that if you were to install a spur socket for example then you only test the leg you have installed. This strikes me as not correct. I would have thought the entire...
Just a quick one.. I have been to a job today where the shower isolator switch had burnt out, as it wasn't RCD protected I replaced the switch with a 1 way consumer unit with an RCD.
My question is..do I need to do a full EIC or would a minor works do?
Cheers
