Hi all,

At college our lecturer said the zones only apply to basins that you can submerge yourself in water - e.g baths and shower basins (and of course swimming...

Guys, I need to settle an argument with a colleague with the location of a towel rail spur....

I understand sockets need to be 3m from the bath or shower, to allow for the...
Hi just carried out an EICR prior to a consumer unit change. The customer has a wet room with a normal baton type accessorie. The ceiling height is more than 2.25 mtrs but the shower head is less than 1.2 meters from the light in a straight line. There is no rcd at the minute but will be once...
Completed a job about a month ago on a small extension. They created a downstairs toilet and shower which is L shaped. On the architects plans it showed a 700sq shower tray and enclosure.
So to describe it, you open the door and I have put light switch just inside. 3M and it turns and 3m...
hi guys,
just a quick one, what zones can you fit a pull switch in a bathroom?

can someone confirm if i have read the regs correctly. if a light fitting is 0.6m away from a bath it is outside the zones so it could be a pendant fitting if you wanted one.
Thanks
Hi

I was completing my current job on Friday and whilst I was there the Virgin installer turned up to route a cable into the new extension. He asked the home owner where she wanted it to enter the room and then asked if she knew where the electrical cables were routed? He was pointed in my...

As the title says. The shaver socket has been 1st fixed on the right hand side of the wash basin, but due to the close proximity of the bath, the shaver socket falls just inside the edge of the bath.Wil this need to be moved? If so how far?
All,
I'm having a really blonde moment. Would one of you good people remind me what the safe zones are "around" a CU??
I'm thinking they are the same as "any" accessory - i.e. vertical and horizontal but somebody else says no!
Thanks

Just been to an inspection today, as with many of them its suffering from a bit of DIY, bathroom downlights are above 225, so are out of zones, but are not IP rated, so I will probably give them a C3 ? They are double insulated but the earths have been nicely snipped out so are discontinuous &...

I'm look for a customer who wants switching in his bathroom via plate switches INSIDE the bathroom - no to pull switches and no to switches outside the room. He is out of zones. I can't find a moisture resistant plate switch that does not look external. Have you used one before?
TIA...
