Hi all, First fixed refurbished kitchen in old property, stripped out old wiring, ran in new ring main to kitchen and cooker circuit. Really awkward cable runs due to new steel RSJ across width of kitchen, and no access from 2nd floor. All cables run in 17th edition 'safe zones' , problem comes...
Hi all, after a bit of advice. I have carried out a C/U change and of course a full test and inspection of the installation. In the bathroom there is a spur which is approx 2.4m from floor, but in line with the edge of the bath. It used to be for a heater but a plumber has now re-used the spur...
Hi, im 1st fixing a kitchen and the customer wants some switched fuse spurs in kitchen cupboards instead of above the worktop. Do the cables zones still count even if the cables are brought through into the kitchen cupboards?
Just wanted to get your thoughts please guys.

My question is the shower is 10.5KW and I'm...

Hi there,
Just wondering as the ceiling in my bathroom is 2.4m would it be within the regs to put regular downlights in as the zones only cover up to 2.25m right? or does this no matter, do they have to be protected for water ingress?
Cheers
john

The IEE Electricians guide to the building regs has a helpful diagram 2.3.3 showing the permitted cable routes in walls and partitions and shows safe zones of 150mm from the top of the wall and from corners together with horizontal and vertical paths containing sockets etc.
I am planning a new...

Many Thanks

There is probably an obvious answer to this but I can't find it!!:D
