Came out of the March 2012 exam liteally 30 minutes ago, anyone done it? How did you find it?

See now i misinterpreted that earth path question, i thought it required a lot more but unsure how to write it so i actually drew out the 3 scenarios, probs lost 3 marks now, now as you mention it, it was obviously so simple

That's a long winded way of answering the question but you might still get the marks - I was reading the green 'exam success' book yesterday and it said you can answer questions with a diagram even if they don't ask for it.

So you may have lost a mark on question 26, which asked what three documents needed to be completed on the scenario

Schedule of inspecs
Schedule of test results
Periodic inspecion report or electrical installation condition report

What did people put for that strangely worded question something like : what electrical part is connected to met for following-cpc, main bonding conductor, earthing conductor. I went with socket outlet gas pipe and earth electrode

I wrote

Cpc - a circuit within the installation

Main protective bond - extranious conductive part within the install i.e water or gas pipe

Earthing conductor - consumer unit

That's what I went for, except I put 'water' instead of gas.

I've had that question before. For main protective bonding conductor connected to an electrical part, would surely be an electric show connected to a bonded water main.

I struggled with that too.

I feel pretty confident about this exam though.

So guys did everyone adjust the max values in q26 by the rule of thumb was that.right as it stated in the first bit that it was at 20c good.luck everyone

Yeah I just times the tabulated values by 0.8 then compared the results, first 3 unacceptable last one acceptable!?
I am pretty sure the ir test with an Spd in the circuit you would test at 250v dc but minimum reading is still 1 megohm, then for that second ir question, I guessed at 500v dc and put 1.0megohm !? Weird cuz it had low voltage and three phase all in same circuit lol. Threw me a bit.
I took the continuity of that swa lighting circuit as single phase though but can't remember of it was a three phase circuit!?

I aslo answered the lighting q as single phase it just had me worried on q26 because it stated the temp in the beginning and the back of the gn3 has a correction from 20 t0 70 or 1.2 factor or did they chuck the 20c that in to confuse the matter

I thought it state that he was testing the building at 20 degrees, so I applied that 0.8 factor for potential temp rise in the future!?? Lol bet the old examiners have a right old laugh at some answers, the hardest question I found was that what three things do you require to get permission from the client prior to test n inspect!!!??!

What about the question which said something like -
State 3 operational factors of circuit protective device breaking a current three times its rating?

One chap on my course finnished with over 40min left on the clock!

Hi all,

Also took the exam last night,


Some sketchy questions involving Earth Electrodes which I haven't done much on.

Overall found part A not to taxing but part B was a little interesting.

Q26 For Zs figures I got

-Pass
-Pass
-Pass
-Fail

For Question about SELV circuit regardless of 3 Phase motor circuit it says SELV so I put 250v DC, 0.5MΩ.

But overall don't think I did to bad, Lets hope fingers crossed.
