2391 Test 2Nd of december

My only advice for you is READ THE QUESTION slowly. Make sure you understand what it is asking you. Alot of people say the time flys which it does,but i had a spare 30mins at the end to go over stuff. So dont rush just plod on and answer the best you can And GOOD Luck Mate

the volt drop max permitted for lighting single phase is 3% 6.9v and three phase is 12v
the power circuits are 5% 11.5v max single phase and 20v three phase

Hey, many many faults did u all find on question 26 regarding the test results, i found 3 on insulation resistance and another defo 2 on zs figures.... 6th one was abit of a guess as i was running out of time!!!

3 zs for me you just had to do the rule of thumb x0.8

I thought section a was a lot harder than section b, they worded some of the questions poorly ,had not looked at three forms of protection against electric shock on construction site. And in section b name 5 inspections to be carried out on car park lighting armoured for 15 marks was harsh ,especially if most of the cable was in ducting

I only put RCD and went blank for construction site and put waffle for Inspection, Check Glands check condition of Lamps etc etc, I think i scored very badly in that question and tbh it should be 15 easy marks How did you get on with the rest of it Japp?

Section b was straight forward apart from the cable, r1+r2 test and insulation resistance, health and saftey questions, rule of thumb were ok i also found three faults on ir and three on tabulated values ,think i did ok there , but lots of section a i was not expecting, earth electrode resistance testing prob got 2 out of three right, question about three phase motor and testing was not clear,
i took the exam as an external candidate, and i spoke to the lecturer after exam , he took a dummy exam himself and he thought it was a tricky one and had to cross refrance some awnsers
