Doing some building & electrical work this week for a customer. Found live cables buried in wall. Told customer & they said they had paid another electrical contractor to remove these cables & that were previously connected to wall lights. Obvisally he removed wall lights & buried cable.
The customer contacted the previous contractor & he came back to see the problem.
He told me that the NICEIC allow connectors to be burried in the wall provided they have 3 wraps of insulating tape around the connectors. What bull ****. The mater was made worse by that he had not wraped the cables in insulating tape anyway.
What a plank! :snore:
 
Excluding the bodgit practice i assume burying the cables and removing the lights effectively puts them out of zone too, another breach of the green god bible.
