Andy, That is a very nice tidy unit and I for one would be interested for use on future installs. Its simply going to save time. Only 1 box to mount, simple to connect and ready to go. Is the DIN meter acceptable for FIT metering?

Hi Graeme,

Many thanks, feel free to call me to chat anytime 07775427243. Yes, all generation meters that Sibert Solar supply are MID/Ofgem approved and are brand new.

Andy

Silbert, One point for you if you are going to be supplying these meters. The standard one I have been supplied with to date (not from you) is a PRO1D V11.122. That one counts UP regardless of energy direction. Therefore at night when the inverter is drawing a few watts it will still be counting up.

Now the MCS metering guidance says:
The meter should be fitted with a backstop so that it does not run “backwards” in
circumstances where there is power flowing to the generator.
Meters are to be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

So arguably the meter is within the guidance because it only talks of "backwards". But I believe it is against the spirit of what they intend if it is still clocking up at night!

I have chosen not to to notice the issue as a few watts is immaterial in accounting terms. But what version of the meter will you be providing?

Regards
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Many thanks for the heads-up, I've been looking into the various versions of the PRO-1D range but the current ones we have are also the V11.122. However, they are supposedly available in different versions with uni-directional energy registration and backlit display. Once I get to the bottom of exactly what version that would be I'll update on here and on our website.

Regards
Andy

Ok, update!

Version v11.211 will be a PRO-1D meter, MID approved, with backlit LCD, doesn't register reverse energy and pulses (LED & output) at 1000pulses/kWh. The v11.122, as Bruce stated, is MID approved, without backlit LCD, single bi-directional incremental register and LED/output pulses at 2000pulses/kWh.

We will aim to stock the v11.211 variant ourselves,

Andy
