Admin Phil is going in to hospital in the morning for a small(ish) heart operation. He is only 40 years old.

I'll pick him up in the morning and take him back home at the end of the day (hopefully) to his wife and two wonderful girls. We have both talked about this for several months, we know that the odds are in his favor but he still feels apprehensive about the procedure. He is a fit and well man, this should be just a procedure but he has complications that may cause other effects. I'm confident but I also have my fingers crossed.

Phil, I am honored that you asked me to be by your side in your time of need. And I wont even take the Mick out of you when your recovering (much).

We got to the hospital first thing this morning hoping to get in straight away. Just his luck that he is the last person under the knife and he is not even in yet! Ok I say under the knife, he is having an electrode burn on his heart. A bit like a heart stent but they burn off the parts of the heart that are reducing blood flow (basic terms).

If this goes wrong, Phil will have no option than to have a pace maker fitted. Thats the concern.

They have to insert a probe into his heart via his major veins from his private area. Ho the joy of Phil telling me his shaving techniques last night on the phone had me cringing. Bald as a baby lol. He has been told about the swelling he will have for a few days afterwards, I'm going to be nice and bring him a cushion to sit on in the van, it has a very hard seat.

Something that made us pee our selves laughing was the paperwork. All very, very serious until it came down to the "next of kin" section. Phil has put his brother down on paper a while ago BUT some one in the hospital administration has ticked the box saying that the next of kin is His "Life Partner"!!!! We both turned into ten year old school children at this point and was almost on the floor laughing. I said to Phil "They have'nt even got you on the table yet and they have already changed your sex!!!!"

As you may tell that he is in good spirits, mind you, thats Phil for ya. If you ever want to have a laugh on site, just invite me and Phil. We are like a really bad version of Morecambe and Wise but just a bit better than the Chuckle Brothers.

Anyway there is no visiting times after he is out, He will be going about now. Phil or the hospital will phone me when he is out. Staying over night of course, picking him up in the morning (fingers crossed) and I've told him he needs to jump back on the forum and give thanks to the friends that have wished him well.

Thank you for all your kind posts, he knows

Jay, long time no speak. Rematch at pool, best out of three? Jay beat me last time even with a broken leg.

Hope you and yours had a good xmas and all that? Catch up in a few weeks mate.

Still got the broken leg pal. It didnt heal. Need an OP. Yeah, we had a good xmas.
Speak too you soon mate.

We don't need thanks, we just want him to get home with a clean bill of health and hope that he doesn't have to have anything like this done again

The likes and thanks is just my way of showing that We appreciate your input. Besides its not that big of a deal to hit a button, its a bit like a hand shake or a smile to a friend.

Dilb well said, "a clean bill of heath". This should take care of most things that are medically wrong with Phil. He has not been a healthy chap for the past two years. Give him a month or so for the re-ab to kick in and lets see him fly. He is the hardest working man I have ever known (and that includes my Dad!). You would not believe the amount of things he has done and achieved in the past ten years. We used to work together back then, and then we both took the same path. I took the A1 and Phil took the M1.
Phil is a C&G's qualified Electrical Lecturer, but yet still gets me to test his installs lol. One of his weak points. Of course he knows it all and tests everything within an inch of its csa but he likes a second opinion. We have had some bloody good on site debates lol.

I will pass on all your well wishes to him later today/tonight. It will cheer him up (the bald sacked git lol )
