Advice on garage supply

Hi i'm looking for some advice, i have been to look at a job to wire a garage. In the garage will be 3 double sockets and 3 lights. What my idea was is to run a 6mm 3core swa from a non rcd protected way on 40amp mcb to 40amp rcd double switch in a 2way garage unit which will be feeding a 20amp radail and 6amp lighting circuit. The length of the swa will be approx 22m run under the floor cavity and out to garage.

To do any job,the person needs to understand everything that's involved

Cable calculations are needed for cable size, protective device/s,anticipated load,earthing arrangements.
These need considering to design what you intend to install

Then there are the practicalities of getting your tools out and doing that installation
Ask specifically about any point you want assistance with and explain the decisions you have made,easier to give help when both sides understand each other

I have said what i was going to do in my first post. Earthing is tn-s, everythin that side is new and there is a dual rcd board. I think the biggest load will be a tumble dryer and other sockets just general use with one out side socket for lawn mower n obv will b an ip rated outside socket and the board feeding it will have a main rcd switch

We do give out help mate...
We have to judge the person who is asking the question, see what electrical knowledge they have then we can answer the question relative to their knowledge.
If you are an electrician then I presume you have done all the cable calcs. Were the results satisfactory?
If you are not sure then show us the calcs you have and we will correct/add to them.

And will not be needing more than that as lightin is nxt to nothin and the biggest thing to be used in sockets is tumble dryer and garage is not used for power tools etc. Volt drop over that distance I wouldn't say will affect anythin usin a Swa. What other calculations are you looking for?

The calculations I learned about in college normally had an equals sign in them.

Is is just the cable size you are questioning?
There did you get 42A from? Is this from the manufacturers data sheet?
