Zone 8 is a detection zone unless you have used it as a tamper zone...?

It's a 700l panel which only has 7 zones but I think it's something to do with the bell box tamper

I'm sure when I took the bell box lid off to fit the battery link zone 8 was lit but can't be 100% sure

Just check manual....1-6 are zones, 7 is pa....and no mention of zone 8...?

I've put a newer keypad in that comes with the 800l which has 8 zones. This couldn't be the problem could it? I thought it was near enough the same but just a newer model

I would say yes....the firmware or program would be different on a 8 zone panel......maybe a easier idea to get a new panel & keypad.....not expensive these days, and alot less grief
