To save alot of questions, heres the card requirements:
Electrician: C&G Level 2 and 3 & NVQ 3
Approved Electrician: As above + 2391
Technician: As Above + 2400 or 2600
That does not explain why I have not been given an approved electricians card through your scam of a company.
Here are my qualifications...
2360/1
2360/2
15th edition
16th edition
17th edition
PAT 2377-12
Domestic installers cert level 2
2391
Domestic PV installation 2370-10
AM1
13 years onsite experience.
I also have a degree.
Why can I not be an 'approved' electrician?
You cannot get approved without getting electrician first, and you cannot get electrician without an NVQ level 3.That does not explain why I have not been given an approved electricians card through your scam of a company.

Why can I not be an 'approved' electrician?
Why would I be stupid enough to do that
And anyway its ecscard.org.uk.
My turn now!
Why the hell is the ECS card application form so long and confusing!?
It's like you don't want any younger trainee tradesman (or anyone else for that matter)
making their way into the trade!
You cannot get approved without getting electrician first, and you cannot get electrician without an NVQ level 3.
Alternatly you can go down the detailed job references route but that wont gaurentee you a grade.
So what you're saying is SMB's not a qualified SPARK!!!!
But the JIB give some sort of card (not a gold one) to NICEIC DI's!!! Coz they is more qualified than SMB like... they did a whole 5 days init
NO OFFENCE TO NICEIC DI'S!!!
Domestic installer cards are totally different. Grades are not really dependant on the colour, the grading is defined under the part that says "JIB Grading:" and as such you can infact get gold cards without any grading.
Thanks I'll take two!!!
Right........
ive got time on my hands at the moment.
Im going to look into doing the AM2.
It will be a doddle.
Looking forward to receiving the 'gold card'.
