They are changing the format of the schedule of inspections so it is more akin to the layout found in EICR checklists apparently.. Does not mean you can "Code 1" your own work though!!

Can somene please post up where i can see a definitive list of what is actually going to be in the new ammendment please as there are a aweful lot of people who seem to know what it will contain yet seem shy inputting up the actual source of information.

Have you not heard of Google !!! a simple search "17th edition 3rd amendment" will give you all the info you need. If you can't be bothered trying Google try this link

That is a draft proposal not a definitive list of actual changes.

If you had read the actual document you would have seen this

Important: this article does not include all of the changes that are expected in Amendment Number 3 to BS 7671, the 17th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. For more information refer to the DPC on the IET website.

I think that any relevant information will be on the IET site. I think that anything else we hear from other sources has a good chance to be just hearsay.

I could be wrong on this, as I believe what they are going to do they will do anyway -and what you see in the draft document is what WE get.

No a draft is just that a draft, subject to change. Yes more than likely most of it will remain but as it's a draft it can still be changed.

As far as I'm aware it will always be a draft until published so if you want what's EXACTLY going to be in there you will have to wait for it to be full published

Yes I know that but it rarely changes from draft to publication if I remember right . They might soften a few thing but the gist is always the same . A lot of vested interests inlfuence these i my humble opinion.
I expect I am not 100% correct that all drafts have become the amendments , but I wont be far off.

The info I got was from a NAPIT trade association meeting about the amendment. I would hope the info is correct... Though I don't know the original source. There were some slides shown, showing the new look EIC. Can't see that someone would fabricate one of those...
