hi all thanks for any advice,i am looking into installing a contactor to switch multiple lighting circuits i cant find a design current supply needed to switch the contactor in any documents apart from mA ratings, the norm i always see is 6amps which is what i plan to use at the consumer unit to supply the contactor but why is it always taken as 6amps im sure looking at this contactor it requires mA but do we use 6amp mcbs as these are the smallest in general stock? are contactors designed to take a 6 amp supply to switch them over? im having to do a circuit design for the contactor and looking to start with the Ib rating and failed straight away,so only now asking the question after years of installing a 6amp mcb any knowledge very welcome thanks
