Just curious if anyone else uses Haeger CU's for domestic..?

Been having probs getting my usual MK, so have gone for a couple of Haegers this week, ended up being ÂŁ10/ÂŁ15 more than mk inc with vat and mcbs. Easily paid for itself with the time I saved.

Only really used Haeger on bigger commercial industrial stuff when subbing years ago, was always good back then

Well worth it sticking with them in future - loads of room, everything in the right place, solid as - no earth bar springing out or MCBs cracking if you tighten them up a little too much. Even the knock outs and labelling simples, not the slighest bit fiddley

Just thought I'd share that with you :39:

I'm in the Hager camp. If you ask me they've got the right business model - spares that fit all boards, robust and useful design features, they actually fit together, a few $$ more but not overpriced - these are the things that keep me coming back for more.

Wylex are poor - the new design of MCBs are slightly different to the old ones, making them a pita to mix. Flimsy too.
MK are ok - not as robust as they could be though.

I always use Hager when I can too.
The only times I don't is when the customer is a right tight arse, when space is at a real premium as they're not the most compact or when it's just a 4-5 circuit job on RCBO's.
In those cases I just use what's best for the job.

spot on mate thats exactly a problem i have found first and last i use
allmaterials were supplied and i have to 16A nsb type and the rest the newer ones and the old ones dont fit good so makes it difficult to fit the cover thinking off rerplacing as i think it looks rough and the board is very flimsy breakers are always on the move lol if you take the cover off i prefer them to be fixed never had a problem in the past with hager so looks as if i will be using theres in the future

Over the past 30something years,I've fitted 3 Hagar boards & liked them.

So why the Hell I've been messing about with Wylex, Volex & Crabtree all this time God only knows!!

Sometimes I think maybe I'm not wired up right !!! :6:

For me, if I can get a hager, I'll always go do one, regardless of the extra cost, I would rather pay the extra ÂŁ5 out of my profit margin and save myself a whole heap of buggering about!!

Couple of wholesalers round my way don't do them, so it's crabtree as a runner up for me, just not as much room!!

And while I'm on the subject, I fitted a nice 4 way 3ph board the other week, the one with the glass door, what a joy that was to work with!! Really well made and piles of room!!

I've just fitted a Hager 12 way VC112 unit in my house (one with the glazed door), based on what I had been recommended to use. That was the first board I've fitted.
So now, if I use anything else, I think I might be quite disappointed!

I must have been spoiled and won't lower my standards now, if I can help it.
