Well, so far we've had 20-odd guys sign up and have been granted access.

I can see this really being well worth while.

All who have signed up have low posts, so I'm assuming (and have been told in a couple of applications) that it's just too jumpy in the main forums for such guys to be asking questions based around learning, which is clearly a massive reason the forum was setup.

So thanks to you all who have applied and been granted access so far.

------

We have around 5 guys so far who are experienced and have physically said they want to help. These guys are top of their league and will NOT talk down to you for asking questions.

So make sure you use this forum. Start a new thread off with every single question you have in mind and the guys will do their best to help guide you to the answers.

Thanks again to all. It has been a pleasure.

Just to add to what Dan has said above, It would help out the people giving the advice if you told us the course and level that you are asking about. It may seem like a daft request but the same question asked on level 2 course would get a different reply than on a level 3 or a 2394/2395. The more we know the more we can help out.

Dont be shy in asking a question, thats what we are here for. This place is your little bubble, protected from any slagging off or mick taking for asking about something that you dont understand so please ask away. Ok some of us may have a laugh and a bit of banter with you but we will not be insulting. If you believe you have been mistreated in the training forum please hit the report button at the bottom left of the post that has upset you. This will then go the mods and admin to look at and the appropriate action taken.

(Dan, any chance of a training room rules sticky thread? This place is a bit different than the rest of the forum and I think we all need to know where we stand as its a bit tougher in her for the advisors.)

Please dont expect us to do your homework for you (sounds of moans from the students lol). We will push you in the right direction, towards the answer but without giving you it. Ask your question and have a go at answering it yourself, this as always been a big issue to us lot. The people that put an effort in get more of a reply and more time spent on people trying for themselves so to say.

Anyway have fun everyone and let the head scratching commence.

Just to repeat...

The ONLY members that can see all of the threads are the mods, Admin & our "advisors".

Therefore, trainees will only be able to see their own threads and no one elses.

That basically means, no question is a stupid question, so ask away.

One last thing, hitting the 'Thanks' button goes a looooooong way.

Dont be afraid to use it.

J

:)

Tell you the question I want to ask most often, is showing someone the last hundred or so photos put up here of installs and pointing saying 'What is that thing there, no, that bit with the big wires, yes it DOES seem to be integral, has it got a name? And that other picture, that wee plastic thing, wtf is that, I've never seen one before in my life, is it necessary, or dangerous, or optional, and why don't I know any of this'.
I COULD CRY.

Ok... I dont understand Jason.

If trainees can only see their own posts, how come Resu has answerd in the one ive made? (hes a trainee)

I'll answer on behalf of the admin/mods because I know this forum and how it works quite well by now.

They have'nt set up the computer program right

Leave them to work out how to switch it off and back on again to reset it to what they want. lol.

This is a new section with a few programing issues that are not as simple as you think, let them sort it out without taking the mick, thats my job

No please dont think I was taking the mick because i wasnt :p

I cant get my emotion across because im using my phone haha. Just meerly pointing out that the concept they want to put into place hasnt taken effect.

I know the scores with setting forum permisions for users so I know the issue lies there somewhere :)

I'll have to agree with that.

I noticed the posting too, but this is a fairly unique forum adjustment to the norm and I expect Dan and Jason will have a few trial settings to get it running how they want.
