think he's drawn a smokescreen over the problem now.
 
How will that cause the light to partially illuminate when the switch is off?
possibly that the light is seeing the smoke/s internal resistance as a path for sufficient current to make it glow ( as a parallel path to the switch)

That was in reply to the post suggesting that the neutral and smoke interlink were switched.
As far as I can see that would only result in possibly blowing up the smoke head
