Have a clean slate of a bathroom to first fix. My builder mentioned that I should go for door activated or even movement PIR .. not keen. Also I’m not really interested in switch outside as it’s likely to get switched off by someone either accidentally or as a prank. Think I will stick to a pull chord with fan isolator above door on outside. Anyone recommend any trendy new high tech stuff that they’ve been installing?

I have a 2 gang switch outside my bathroom room door , one for the fan and one for the light so I can turn the fan on without having the light on in the day
I did something similar as I found in summer I mostly only had the light on so the fan would work. I did wire it so the fan also comes on with the light. It is an inline fan nicely installed and is almost silent so I'm not worried about night time fan noise.

The switch is outside the bathroom, but I did fit one inside the bathroom the other day. :)

I’ve just done a refurb and they paid 9k for an all singing and dancing toilet in the en-suite that flips the lid up when you walk in, light comes on, washes, dries etc
does it caress your -------s as well?

bugger forum gestapo censureship. .i said bollox.

Main ceiling lights on switch outside and under cabinet/mirror lights on PIR for if she needs a pee at night and dont want to hurt her eyes (by looking in the miror perhaps) by the full lighting, and/or dont want to make a noise with the fan going on. Just make sure the PIR beam dont fall outside the door when its open; either use a ceiling PIR placed just above the door, or a wall pir going across the doorway.

Standard plate switch, outside the zones...

Or a Quinetic switch if that's not possible (position of shower/bath relative to door, or really small bathroom), provided you can put the receiver somewhere accessible.

Don't forget the fuse for the fan...
