Hey up. It seems the majority of you favour the Megger 1552, i was wondering if any one has used the 1553 with the Power Suite Onsite blue tooth program? Is it any good, does it save time filling in certs ? Is it compatable with the various governing bodies certs ? I am looking to buy some test equipment and have seen on the ISSW web site that the 1553 is 596 pounds but to get the on site program with it its 700 pounds !! Does any one know of any where to get this software for free? Cheers.

reference method C doesnt, thats the one i quoted. called clipped direct covers cables clipped direct and cables buried in masonry ie brickwork, concrete, plaster and the like. come on scot this is first year stuff

Question for Jason.S. Why will you "certainly be avoiding the Fluke"? Iv enever used a megger only fluke testers. Ive always found the 1652 and 1653 brilliant but not many seem to like them. Im looking at the megger separates as well before i buy but you dont seem keen. Is it the hassle of swapping leads?

Megger check box and Metrel Eurotest AT! Megger or the new Metrels. (Do not go for an old Metrel/Alphatec!!!)
Do not like Flukes – personally!

Same as my MI3101 MFT, I thought this was how all Auto RCD testers worked.

From what ive heard its only the Megger 1502 and fluke 1651 that dont have this feature. I might be wrong.

Leads – one of the worst ones around.
Zs readings – takes nearly a cigarette time
Wrong readings when low on battery juice
Difficult calibration – not many calibrators can do e decent job on it.


Mind you, the 1652 is a bit better then 1653!
