I have recently done an EICR test on a flat. The only issue being that the water pipe is not bonded at the stop cock. The stop cock itself is located just outside the flat front door in a service cupboard - the trouble is the pipes are all plastic in the service cupboard and under the floor into the flat.
It seems to be that all pipe on show is plastic, the only copper pipe I have found is in the water tank cupboard which is nowhere near the point of entry or the stop cock and is permanently screwed shut.

My question is where should I bond it?

Careful or you'll be putting the scheme inspectors out of a job  And dont forget the ones that get thro are the 'cream' of those that apply ...... you should see some of the ones that dont even get thro the 1st cut!!
i really wouldn`t mind...but its the opening statements of these threads that starts me off...

usually in the form of:

`im an electrician....got a 13kW shower...will the existing 6mm cable do it?`

or other stuff such as:

`hi...just on an EICR....found metal lighting with no earth...but the switches are plastic...is it OK?`

and the endless RCD tripping after board change rubbish, SWA:..how to supply garage/shed feeds, RCDs in series, earthing, bonding, `earth bonding` threads...

all stuff they should know if carrying out the work....

shameful....

If it's the same shi^ different day, then do the majority a favour and fuc^ off and respond with useful posts in which you want to partake in.

you assume , incorrectly , that the forums sole purpose is of an educational crutch to fill in the bus sized knowledge gaps of many members whom contribute absolutely zero other than wanting a free ride or answers on a plate.
for many regulars this site serves a social function , like a staff canteen , to unwind and talk shop , not to bail out the clueless whom have no business picking up a screwdriver to begin with.
theres other methods to learn your trade without resorting to forums so why should we "fuc^ off" ?
people are mean , lifes cruel , and the worlds unfair.

i try not to be...i really do...but i just cant cope very well when i have gone through the appropriate channels to arrive where i am now....so far....

and then like you says theres Electrical Trainee (i dont care..the majority of these stupid, ill informed, badly thought out posts are) coming in here asking tripe...

we all know the reasons for this....and we all know what the solutions would be...

That's insane, didn't you digest any of the information given to you?

Boss Is a nutter need I say anymore?

He is the only one that would take me on as an apprentice at the time.

As soon as I qualify im joining a firm as a mate to get more experience.

Ill get more money as a mate at another firm than an approved electrician here.

I know that it doesnt need bonding if certain criteria is met for example a certain resistance value etc in regs etc
