PEMDAS needs to be used its is one of two methods used throughout the world we are even taught it in UK but its often lost in memory when you get older through lack of use.
PEMDAS - shows the order of operation.

Do things in Parentheses First (bracketed).

Then Exponents (Powers, Roots).

Finally Multiply or Divide before you Add or Subtract.

So 6-1*0+2/2 = 7

Brackets
Orders
Division / Multiplication
Addition / Subtraction
then for any matching ones work from left to right.

I get seven as the answer to the original.
