Hi All,

My company are sending me on the inspection and test course. I am not training to be an electrician (I am a design engineer) but have been requested to have these qualifications.

I have 17th Edition and guidance note 3, do I need the on site guide too?

Many thanks
B.

all maths exams say that, and NO ONE HAS EVERY CHECKed... even after I've reset mine and lost all my wonderful programs :'(

I did have a mate with a Casio Programmable Calc (one of the first id seen) i programmed it for Triangles and that sort of formulas but i dont think he had a clue how to use his own calculator

Ti83 are nice (like all the Texas Range) Very nice to program

Do you get your results straight away then?

With the C&G 2394/5 i was not informed if i had passed for at least 6 weeks, think it was more like 8 though.

Well done by the way. :)

I think I was 4 days away from 3 months after taking my 2391 that I got a certificate through, no letter before or after, just the cert. had a fairly good idea I'd passed as two mates had taken it at the same time and had letters informing them that they'd failed a month before I got my cert. NOT a nice wait though!

As for the easy marks with the earth fault loop diagram, I nearly failed on that! Either done a TNS for a TNC-S or vice versa and only noticed on my check through. Suffice to say that the second diagram wasn't as tidy as the first haha.

I took my written exams in June this year. I had an email confirming that i had passed both successfully in August. I finally received my certificates on october 30th.

Indeed it is all multiple choice. 55 questions in 90 minutes with the results in ten minutes :)
You are allowed gn3 but there are around half of the questions that require knowledge not in the book.

It is probably not as hard as C&G but I am still happy to have passed!

Cheers for the good wishes :)

Well I took the Periodic exam today and passed :)

This one is 40 questions in 60 minutes.
I used GN3 in only four questions.

There were a lot of coding questions as expected!

I just have the 4 hour practical on Thursday then I am done :)
Cheers
