Cable grouping within capping behind dot and dab

Is there any restriction with regard to technical or regultatory issues as to the number of cables which can be contained within 1" pvc or metal capping behind plasterboard. For example either:
a) Two 1.5mm lighting cables
b) Two 2.5mm
c) One 2.5mm and two 1.5mm (cables will be touching)
-Are any of these unacceptable?

Capping is used to stop the plasterers trowel from hitting and nicking cables causing damage to the insulation, now it is very good practice to cover cables due to this reason with capping, many use plastic, I use metal, however if there is plasterboard going on the walls infront of them you may have needed to avoid using it, providing the cables are protected by RCD of course, just thought I would drop that in.

This question is pretty crazy Fella, why would you want to know whether 2 cables can be side by side under a bit of capping? , come on get a grip man.

i think you're making the mistake of assuming capping is a form of containment, like trunking and conduit, which have maximum capacity factors.

I'm sure there is no reason not to do so looking at appendix F just wanted confirmation

I don't think it's such a silly question. Two or more cables side-by-side, touching, under capping would bring the grouping factors into play and reduce their current carrying capacity. So if you have two heavily loaded cables, I'd put them under separate capping.
