I need a new set of rods do you guys / gals use the super rods or the cheap blue rods (£15 from e-bay)
or is there a product in between that's a decent quality

super rods for me

never had a problem with them and got them cheap enough

and def worth every penny as they have saved me lots of time and hassle

do you own the basic set or is worth paying for the deluxe set

mines the 1 with 6 rods and a magnet hook and a couple of other things

think it came to 30ish quid the hook is really handy and i sometimes do use all 6 rods

you can always add rods etc so get whatever you can afford

I have had my super rods for 2+ years lost a few and one lost its end but you buy just the rods as replacements direct from super rod. Get the whisk end and the torch the hook is great and the whisk end ideal for hooking or running through suspended ceilings. Get a good mix of red and yellow i have 6+ of each and once or twice they have all been in use the site looked like a CSI episode!

I use the cheap blue ones, 1st tube lasted about 3 years, lent them the bloody father in law and he lost 4 of them down a cavity wall, just bought a 2nd lot.

Whats so good about these super rods ? What's a whisk end ? Must be great for stiring your brew from a distance :)

Anyone use the fish tape stuff ?

I use a cheap ebay blue set, they're not bad but one snapped within an hour of having them and two ends have come off that was quite frustrating at the time but what can i expect, for the price they've lasted nearly a year of abuse so good value but will be super rodding it next time;)

Official name is the Glider Cable Installation Tools - Super Rod - Tools for Electricians it is much easier to get a hook on to and it runs smoothly over the channel used in alot of modern build ceilings rather than getting stuck under the lip.

Saw this on dragons den MagnaMole Magnetic Cable Guide - As Seen On Dragons Den | As Seen On - Dragons Den clearly they had never heard of Super Rod!

Absolutely correct they hold water, shrouds are totally unnecessary. 20s is 24mm spanner, 20 large is 30mm spanner.
