Changes to FIT coming sooner that we thought!

So in the meantime we'll just dangle in limbo and wonder what the outcome will be. Totally ridiculous. Where's the clarity?

The Energy Act 2008 requires a notice period of 40 days for the introduction of changes which counting back I think might be....today. So perhaps we will not have long to wait for the Minister to announce the 'consultation'.

Is there a classifieds section on here?

FOR HIRE: Domestic PV installer and his roofer mate. Desperately cheap rates. MCS accredited and CIS registered. Attend to your installation backlog before any ridiculous deadlines roll round. Cash payment preferred. Can't guarantee service with a smile.

FOR SALE: Lots of PV test kit and assorted components. Excellent condition - hardly used. Also one arse, ripe for shafting (slightly soiled)

WANTED: FIT rate of at least 30p

Please contact DECC for more information.

I suppose we could all get our revenge on the plumbers by attending a 5 day plumbing course and venturing forth fitting solar thermal systems. Or will the RHI be buggered up too?

Hi all. Document was removed but I have found at .businessgreen.com/digital_assets/3612/Energy_Saving_Trust_FIT_review_fact_sheet.pdf . Just put www at front as being a newbie I cannot post links as yet.

Parliament is not sitting today and there is no planned business. All members are working hard in their local constituencies; being as how it's a Friday.

I was about to get PV installed and get a loan at 6.3% to pay for it. Made sense as returns were in the area of 10-12%, but it's not worth it any longer.

Hold your horses. This is from DECC Twitter feed:

"Consultation on changes to the solar PV FIT to be published to Parlt on Mon. Doc on EST site earlier was neither final nor accurate. #FITS"

Still worth it if you really get moving on it right now. Depends how much you want it.

I can't see how that EST document can be accurate. As I read it, you'd get 21p per unit for a 3.99 kWp system..........and 37.8p per unit for a 4.01 kWp for installs between December 9th 2011 and March 31st 2012

I made my thermal panel six years ago and it has paid for itself now. Got a quote for a 2kW for seven grand and a one for a 2.6kW for nine grand and was looking at getting installed pre April 2012 after some redundancies at work which be confirmed towards end of Novemnber. I need to see if I have a job in three weeks time before I can commit to anything. Damn!
