We were told twisted CPCs were to be coded C2 on EICRs, etc. by NIC inspector.

That's really is a potentially dangerous situation isn't it lol.
Been doing some remedial work after EICRs have been carried out by our friends at British Gas and some if their C2s really are appalling.
It is a code 1 if you are not wearing NICEIC clothingWe were told twisted CPCs were to be coded C2 on EICRs, etc. by NIC inspector.
Wasn't that long ago that was actually taught ...
Cant see how its non compliant ..
Go on dill name a couple ???
Well don't untwist them then, they are perfectly fine and need not be touched lolUntwisting to test or whatever can stress the cable?

I don't think it is non compliant in any way, not worthy of any code, certainly bad practice though.

you do that before you connect up, once thats out of the way it may never need testing again lolIf only we didn't have to perform continuity and R1+R2 tests!

I actually never twist cables if they are solid cores, never have, I am also a big believer installations should not be messed about with, every 3-4 years a DB should be opened and all connections tested for tightness and then leave well alone, just because some --- in a suit with NICEIC written on it says something doesn't mean you cannot think for yourself, I appreciate your a trainee and you are learning the modern way, hence my polite reply to you, all I can say is try thinking about potential harm if installations are periodically tested regulary, it is well known MCB terminals can faulter if undone and then redone up several times, the ---- in suits don't know much about installations, it is all school work and theory, they need to feel like they are doing something so they continue to add new laws and rules, some are very wise, some are really stupid.
