anyone on here play regulary or enjoy a casual game ?

i'd expect such a scholarly game to attract the educated individuals that work in the engineering sector.

express your interest here , maybe get a few correspondance games going , share some views on tactics ,
lessons for novices , whatever you like really.

im not expecting a mad rush but we'll see

I play, not to any competition standard but ok for a novice I guess. I taught the 3 kids to play just like my dad taught me and my brothers and sisters, because I think it helps with decision making.

I enjoy chess but my wife won't play cos I always beat her. I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I find it stimulating and enjoyable!

i play every night , against the computer , level 10 , win rate at about 40% of games.
its a family tradition thing for me , both dad & gramps good players.

I've always known how to play as long as I can remember and was surprised by the amount of people growing up that didn't know how to. I thought I was ok until I played a mate a coupla times and he hammered me. You've got to be a few moves ahead which apparently I'm not!

sadly we live in the era of facebook , x-box and instant gratification where stuff like chess and being able to write with a pen & paper are dying skills

You forgot to mention the Level 10 part, that could be like playing that Kasparov (however its spelt) bloke I haven't played for about 30yrs, still remember what piece does what but cant say I was any good, enjoyed it though.
