Christmas eve call out !!!

It is 10:25 PM and i have just had a call out come in for a suspected blown main fuse !!!
To make it worse I am back home in Linc's and they are a 130 miles away in Bucks "#########".:furious3:
I just hope one of our lads have laid of the fire water and are sober enough to answer the phone ?
It is at times like this , being the boss is not all it is cracked up to be !!!
At least i might get to see Santa on the drive down !?

Spare main fuses fairly cheap, 5 or less. If I fit a KMF for longer tails I usually gaffer tape a spare 80A on!

My all time record for a call out was £11 a minute.

It wasn’t very often you got one like that, we got a “one off” payment, no matter how long it took.

The best I ever had was quad time for xmas day & boxing day with time off inleu as well..multi-national security installation firm anfter Northern bank was robbed just before xmas...

Best call out time was with a subby to the cooncil street lighting dept calll outs were treble time and min 4 hrs per call use to get calls ranging from base door off 5mins to car totaled 4 poles close road pole squad called out 6hrs later cleared up n off home
most fun call was in front of the "BIG HOOSE" 3,4 inches of snow bar 25mtr3mtr of pavement wich was bone dry
we got called police evacuated houses I diagnosed fault n police were like YEA RIGHT!!!
lorry parked in bay normaly used by cars he had driven over pavement where cable TV had been installed earlier in the year hence compressing the DNO Cable which had been nicked causing it tospark setting light to the gas leaking from disturbed joint in pipe WELL 2 digging crews 4 engineers from DNO and Gas agreed with me Turned off power at sub stn ( had to inform the Barlinnie prison as well) gas turned off pavement dug up cable Tv fiber cut in 2 as it was obstructing access to DNO cable and almost 6 inches from where I had put cross fault was found result 8hrs pay at treble time 50 call out fee and as it took me past "normal hours" I got rest day 8hrs payed in 2 days bankholiday I got almost a weeks wage its amazing how much councils pay subbies over their own staff
